Well, unless they're totally hypocritical then that particular plan is likely going to end quickly and hilariously.

I really don't think that someone who eschews all magic is going to last long against a well-initiated Mage dropping one of a couple dozen possible Foxtrot Utahs on his head. Control Thoughts, especially, would let a Charisma Mage dismantle his group without turning the guy into a Martyr.

Social adepts could just destroy everything he does. Personally, though, I like the idea of dropping a Physical Mask spell on him and his closest followers, to make them look like insect spirits. And then just let nature take its course.

No. You know why? Look what happened the last time someone declared a war on the Awakened. Aden torched the entire city as a lesson in what a war on the Awakened would entail. Because if you're going to war against magic, eventually you're going to be looking at Dragons and the Immortal Elves.

Good point. 

That was overt, though - I was thinking something as covert as possible. Remember one of the popes declared the newly born elves and dwarves as 'abominations' in January 2012 yet there never seemed to be any equivalent comeback on the Vatican.  At least not reported. I know, Ireland stamped on the Catholic Church in Ireland pretty bloody thoroughly, but that was localised.

It doesn't have to make sense, except within a particular mindset.  That mindset seems to exist in the Sixth World.
