"He took over my spirit, okay," Sammy said when O'Connor looked at her, "he was stronger than I was."
She had heard what the stuntman had said and she was pissed off that it had happened.  She would have to see if there was a way to prevent this from happening.  She knew there was still a lot to learn and that learning was starting very quickly.

O'Connor nodded, accepting Sammy's explanation without further comment. He turned back to the stuntman, "I miss anything cool while I was out?"

Clem replied before anyone else could. "Nothing much" said the ork, a cold stare clearly telling O'Connor to be done with his statement so Knight Errand could leave them to their business.

After another half hour or so, Minnie comes and retrieves you, bringing some security to cover you while you are having your audience with the star.  You walk past the set where clean-up is proceeding, Big Ben is on the phone adjusting schedules and shoot times to accommodate the delay. When you enter the dressing room, Pandora and Fermin are surrounded by security.  The elf appears to have some medical training as he’s checking if Pandora has a concussion, though some of you’re a bit distracted as you can finally see Pandora’s beautiful hazel eyes.

The elf leaves Pandora and walks over to you. He greets you, handing out his card, which reads “Richard Fermin, Media Arts Manager, Charisma Associates.”

“We have not been formally introduced, I’m Mr. Fermin from Charisma Associates,” he says as he shakes everyone’s hand. “I appreciate you guys’ help. Pandora also wanted me to express her thanks.” He looks to her and nods.  Pandora smiles back as she is escorted out by security, making a point to look at Sammy and mouth a soft “Thank you”.

When she is gone, Fermin continues “I want to go one step further.   If we have further incidents due to Ben’s props, I would like to have your group there to handle it. I can offer you a retainer during the filming of Big Ben’s new movie, plus I can set up accommodations while you are working for me.”

"And how long will that filming take," Sammy asked while trying to remember what she knew about Mr. Fermin.

SAMMY
You are actually quite familiar with the background on both Fermin and Pandora, who are practically one person these days.

You even had a meeting with him once about changing management, but it was a very casual thing, more of a perfunctory formality after your star began to rise.  You and Jenny were already quite close, and Richard and Jenny were also friends, the company just needed to “check the box” that they offered you a chance to trade up if that was what you were looking for.

Richard Fermin is the Media Arts Manager for Pandora. He has been with Charisma Associates since the beginning. Before that he lived in Eugene, Tír Tairngire, where he studied business and fine arts. He became Pandora’s manager a year after her performance in the classic Star Wars series. As her success grew, he dropped many other clients until he was down to a handful, with Pandora as his primary focus. While his job title says media arts manager, he is also her sparring partner, paramedic, and bodyguard when the need arises. This has led to a close relationship between the two.

Pandora is a sim star for Pathfinder Multimedia. Her real name is Rebecca Oswick, and she was born in 2034 in Juneau, Athabaskan Council. Her parents are marine biologists. Her mother is from Quebec, so she learned some French. At the age of seventeen, she headed to San Francisco to look for acting work and hopefully build a career for herself. She worked as a hotel maid and as a courier until her big break at eighteen. Director Allan Ford took a chance, casting young Ms. Oswick as lead actress in a series adapted from classic Star Wars literature. The series was a huge success, and her talent was recognized. Rebecca changed her name to Pandora and continued to play strong female heroines. She’s broken out of the typecasting with the occasional drama and suspense-themed films .

Picking up on the rest of the team's general willingness, Sam said, "That's very generous, Mr. Fermin. Naturally, we can't change bosses in the middle of a job, but our contract with our current employer is only for the remainder of the shooting here at the Needle. I only tell you this to ensure that, if we accept your offer, no confusion arises as to who we report to when--I'm sure you understand the value of loyalty and adherence to contracts." He grinned affably, to indicate that the comment was not meant offensively; just a standard disclaimer.

"That said, I do have a few questions. The first being why you think this incident was caused by the props--we have not had a chance to interrogate the ruffian we captured, and most of the miscreants seemed more interested in your leading lady than anything else."

OOC: KE has Mohawk.

"All told, the schedule calls for about 2 weeks of dedicated shooting, I supposed we will need to keep an option open to for any delays.  I am quite certain Mr Slade will not mind your continued security services in LA,  especially if Charisma and Horizon are covering the tab and reimbursement for monies already expended.  That said I do admire loyalty---and discretion---when hiring contractors.  Since Mr Slade is en route, we can make continued negotiations contingent on his acceptance."

Fermin invites you to sit down while you continue to talk, indicating a low table with refreshments if you are so inclined.  Pandora's contract riders for her dressing room include some tasty bits and real fruit juices and alcohol, nothing too pricey, but not cheap either.

"To answer your question, your friend, Mystech..." indicating Fionn, who had remained standing and was not really paying attention until his name was used, "...found what we needed in the Matrix to confirm my read of the situation."

The technomancer continued, still distracted "Yeah, uh, when they finally let me get a good look at the node I was able to find all kinds of spoofed orders canceling or rescheduling or rerouting security."  Fionn also sent the team a text as he spoke.   <Guys, I can't go to LA.  In fact, I need to get out of here, pretty damn quick.>

Fermin continued, "It stands to reason that the only items on this set worth the trouble they went to are your armor and my star, and since the mob wasn't even in their right minds thanks to their wizard, it is pretty safe to assume the attack on Pandora was the distraction."

Clem couldn't believe it. "He has to leave?" thought the ork in disbelief. "If you leave in the middle of a run Red, you might never find work in this city again. Word gets around fast about who's reliable and who's a quitter" wrote Clem to Fionn, not including the rest of the team on this message. She had warmed up to the elf, but this lack of professionalism would be enough for her to burn any bridges between him and her, should he leave.

Clem nodded to Torley. She had already made clear that everything had to be approved by the Johnson first, so she didn't feel the need to remind him of that. Besides, she knew Torley felt the same as she did about honouring arrangements, so she let him handle the talking part of things.

Sammy got the message on the team comm AR window she had open.  She did a reply-all.
'What's going on,' she messaged back while keeping an eye out on the negotiations.  Torley was the best in that, but she kept following things in case he needed some specific information, as she knew more about the movie scene.

<I am truly sorry, but the detective I was put in touch with has developed some very promising leads about my sister, that I need to look into.  I know how bad this looks professionally, but this about family.  I don't want to leave you in a lurch, I have a few contacts in the local scene that I have reached out to already, to fill in the matrix support hole, and I will hang around until they are on site, but I can't think about leaving the city right now.>

As the interteam comms fly fast and furious, Mr Fermin pulls out a small datapad for some notes, "So let's see, 2 weeks with an option to keep you longer on site, top notch accommodations, off-grid air travel I assume?  Four member team, you will probably need someone on the ground in LA to help smooth the transition.  I think a thousand should cover your time and expertise?"

O'Connor found Red's text a bit surprising, if not disappointing, *Can't say I'm gonna miss ya* He replied, <[Channel: Team | Type: Text] When's your replacement showing up?>

"So if I understand correctly, you're going to take over the contract of Big Ben and extend it for the rest of the filming, even in LA, correct," Sammy asked, just to make sure she understood what was going on.
