I have a bit of good news for you: your spirit doesn't have a 12 dice pool to resist your binding. The spirit's binding resist should only be twice its force, so in your case a 10 dice pool. So you can re-roll those 10 dice or drop the last 2 (whichever the GM is more comfortable with). Also, with Edge you should be able to spend a point to re-roll your misses (in your case it would be 7).
This was a typo. Accidentally linked Omeed's rolls twice instead of the spirit's opposed roll. I actually did make the spirit's opposed roll with 10 dice, and yes, it actually did get 5 hits. The post is updated with the correct link to Invisible Castle. I really want to spend a point of Edge to re-roll the failures, will do that momentarily.

RE: Magnetbox, I'm playing with him on another forum. He said he'd be on spring break this week with limited computer access. But still, the fact that he did not make mention of that in this thread is probably a bad sign.

EDIT: Edge spent for one extra measly success, but it's cool. It's the principle of the thing! Man, the dice seem to really hate this guy...
DOUBLE EDIT: For the record, the spirit of man's optional power is Fear.

Depending on the phone you have, you could just get a browser with tabs.

How's your health?

It's a dumb phone, which is what I wanted it's just inconvenient at the moment. I'm actually doing quite well now, I shouldn't have to deal with the likes of an irritating 2 week long cold for another five years again at the very least I think.

For future reference, I can't remember if the Response ratings on the planes were improved or not, so I used the base-line when I did that piloting check. Was it improved?

aryeonos asked me to post this for you

Vehicle Tests
Characters don’t need to make a vehicle test every time they operate a
vehicle. For normal everyday tasks, like driving to the Stuffer Shack, it’s
assumed the character performs this automatically. A vehicle test is called
for only when there’s a chance of bad consequences (like crashing), or if
time is a crucial factor (like jumpstarting a car while under fire).
To make a vehicle test, the character rolls Reaction + the appropriate
vehicle skill +/– the vehicle’s Handling. The threshold depends
on the difficulty of the task being performed
—see the Vehicle Test
Threshold Table. A simple task (avoiding a large boulder in the middle
of open terrain) may only have a threshold of 1 hit, while a more difficult
task (making a hairpin turn to dive into a narrow opening) may
require as many as 3 or 4 hits.

Didn't notice the Handling of it, but I made the roll because I figured it'd be a tricky maneuver to increase altitude like that while trying to keep the chance of detection down.

On the portion with what the dice pool is, mine is different than that at present (that is for manual driving). Since I am Jumped In, it is Response + Skill--like I said I didn't notice what the Handling of the plane is because I tend to forget about that vehicle stat.

All right then. I'll just need to remember that I have 3 more dice to fly this puppy next time :)

Well...assuming Handling even applies when jumped in. Still not too clear on that since it could be possible that Handling only affects manual driving/piloting. (First Rigger I've actually played, though I've built a couple)

Handling would effect you because it mechanically how its built and represents if its easy or difficult to maneuver whether your jumped in or not.

I was thinking so, but like I said, I just wasn't clear on that (noticed that the planes have a bonus on that, so that's why it'd be 3 more).

I don't want to write meaningless stuff in the IC thread since Fisher doesn't see the radioactive warning, so I'm just checking in here and awaiting further development.
