Well, it could be both. Gingerbread Man didn't show up, and later Kane killed him. Or Kane killed him, and that's why he didn't show up...

Kane stated he didn't show up - got distracted by a merchantman or something.  If he had, and had whacked Gingerbread Man, well, one of two things: he'd be crowing from the top of the mast, or else he'd claim he never showed up because of all of Ginger's Facebook Friends.

Last reference to Gingerbread I remember was in the SR3 book SOTA64, where Kane says he hears his (G's) show is still very popular with the senior citizen circuit.
