My character has Bod 4.  I bought and Armored Vest 6/4.  Then I bought Form Fitting armor shirt,
3/0 and PPP arms 0/+1, PPP Vitals +1/+1 and PPP helmet 0/+2.  The way I saw the rules they all stack, but I just wanted to make sure.  The vest is from SR4A and the rest is from Arsenal.  Has anybody else done something like this?  BTW my final B/I is 10/8, but my character is unemcumbered (even though anything over 8 would be in this case).

Thanx,

Sincerely from spp.

Yes, it's quite common in my group. You add them all together to determine encumbrance (except for the FFBA, which only contributes half to encumbrance).

And now you can do it with War! rules, too. (see YNT So Weave Armor, War!, p. 160-161)

Maximum armor for body 4 (not including milspec) is 11/9.  It requires the 6/2 FFBA full body armor, and whatever else you can get for the other 5/7, like an Aces High jacket for 3/3 and PPP for 2/4.

Do remember that the full body FFBA is basically like a diving suit, complete with gloves, boots and hood.
Some GMs let you get the full bonus without the gloves or hood, while others don't.

Without the hood and gloves, it's practically the same as the next step down and should use those stats.

Yeah, pretty much.

Though it's easy enough to just carry the hood and gloves in your pocket and pull them on if a firefight starts.

Not quite
Even without Hood and Gloves the Full Body still protects more Area than the 1/2 Body
(the Calves,Feet and Lower Arms). So if you want to Houserule/Downgrade it you have to give it 5/1 or 4/2.Everything else is unfair (ImO)

Based on the description, I got the impression that a full suit of FFBA breaks down into a half-suit plus detachable hood, long gloves, and long booties. While the booties would offer a little extra protection, they're not nearly as important as the hood (vital area) or the arms (defensive wounds), so it's easy enough to just call it a half-suit.

But that impressions wrong
the Halfbody only includes 1/2 of the Upper arm(like a T shirt ) and the Thighs
Imagine a 1930s bathing Suite in a Charlie Chaplin movie (Red and white stripes )
the Full Body covers the complete Body so it covers much more of the Body even without Hood and Gloves

going back to the original question a bit, what I want to know is, if you attach PPP armor to your form fitting body armor, is that halved for the sake of encumbrance as well? That almost sounds like cheating to me, as it'd allow you to squeeze out a few extra points worth of B/I if you did it this way rather than putting PPP on your main armor.

Count the PPP's full encumbrance.

FFBA Full Body Suit (6/2) + all PPP pieces (2/6) = 8/8 armor (5/7 encumbrance).

PPP isn't added to any one piece of armor in particular, its listed as +1/+1 (or whatever) to indicate it stacks with other worn armor, but it has full encumbrance values.

I think you can't attach PPP to FF Armor
Formfitting Armor is....Formfitting !
if you attach pieces of Plastic to it, it looses its "Formfittingness"

You don't attach PPP to other armor, you just strap it on. It works like a helmet, independent of the other armor, adding to total armor rating and encumbrance.

And I get what you're talking about with the half suit of FFBA, but I think you're overlooking the possibility of long gloves.
