So is it like 3 or like the originals with pretty graphics?

Honestly? It's the best of both worlds, it uses 3's GUI and mechanics (with some significant and appreciated tweaks) to give you a game with a story, difficulty and feel of 1 & 2.

I'm holding off until I get a theatrical production out of the way. Can't afford to lose days to a game. I am, however, looking forward to my inevitable hunt for the Alien Blaster and Dogmeat. I still remember in Fallout one thinking "oh crap, a random encounter" then "A crashed UFO? You're kidding?" I might have never thought of it again except for the appearance of both in Arcanum, a sort of Steampunk Shadowrun. I've enjoyed the hunt for the two signature pieces ever since. Granted, the original ran on the same power cells as a laser pistol and I could sneak up to point blank range in full power armor and cap a baddie in the eye. Its not as much of a game breaker anymore but its still nice to have.

I'm still waiting to get Metro 2033 first. A good, russian FPP game, post-apocalyptic, but in a dungeon-like stalker-ish way. Seems nice, i hope to get the book it was based on.

And in the stories of the people
A million faces, a million lies
They'll never say they feel what you feel
That they can see the world you see
And in their faces, their expressions
A million faces, a million lies... VNV "Chrome"

The Dead Money DLC is apparently available for purchase now.

Spoiler, highlight to read:
Small hint: Save all your gear somewhere safe before you start the DLC. You'll know when it starts, you get a message where to go.

Pay attention to the game sounds. They're important.

Oh, and be prepared to yell at the screen in rage more than a few times. And not just because of the difficulty.

Honestly? You aren't missing much. I got it on it's first day, worked on it sporadically for a couple of days, and haven't gone back since- it wasn't just 'eh', it was actually boring to me. Some neat twists and ideas, but I never could find myself enjoying it at all.

Then there's the great treasure itself... ugh.
Not to be demanding, but can you please point that Panther Assault Cannon somewhere other than my groin?

First i was struggling to play at all, as it crashed a dozen times after the intro. Then when i managed to play the game, it was all glitchy, stuttering and crashing all the time, usually taking my system with it, and even killing the Task Manager (on xp). And when i managed to find a few fixes and tricks, it started to be annoying, even though playable. Almost every time i tried to loot a corpse, it glitched so i couldn't, and had to reload the game. And every time I've reloaded, VATS and zoom became unavailable.
So long, New Vegas.

It's weird, some folks seem to have zero problems with FNV, others have crashes and glitches constantly.

I for one have the PC version and have had not a single problem. Running Windows 7 and installed via Steam.

(No, I don't have the DLC, that's X-box 360 exclusive for now, apparently)

But I hear reports of other PC users with nothing but problems.

PC and PS3 get the DLC on Tuesday, I'll grab it sometime soon after that.

Absolute power is kinda neat.

Just my two Nuyen, but it's a damned fine game that has a lot of depth to it, especially with the companions.

My family watches me play, and a few cried about Raul's Quest.  It gets even more interesting when you realize he's Danny Trejo!  Man can voice act!

Also, a return of the "True" Brotherhood of Steel (Buncha jerks!), and an explanation as to why there's issues between the East and West Coast branches of them.

And, finally, a legitimate and honest portrayal of Homosexual and Bisexual characters is pretty much ANY media.  They're shown to be just like everyone else, which, frankly, is the truth.

As for Dead Money.  The first conversation in the game was the creepiest, weirdest, scariest thing I've seen in a long, long time.  It goes downhill from there.

Can't wait for the next DLC, and happy that it's going out on all systems at the same time.

Now, if only I knew how to gamble in a way that I didn't lose my shirt every time at the casinos!
