I've been waiting for this series to come back to gaming - if I had the money to spare I'd love to get this, but maybe next year. Looks good, though. Reminds me slightly of Valkyria Chronicles.

Reminds me slightly of Valkyria Chronicles.

In what way? I've played both, put a fair number of hours into each. They both have that smaller-scale squad aspect, but that's about it.
Power corrupts.
Absolute power is kinda neat.

That was pretty much what I was reminded of. The turn-based tactical nature of the respective missions, too, though X-Com is more a strategy game with tactical interludes, whereas Valkyria Chronicles was a tactical game with RPG elements and no strategic overlay.
