>>>>>[Autumn, Iceblade is right. I figure, if you want my rear end in a coffin, I wouldn't be here right now. Granted, I might just be in China, but it depends on if you or my Grandfather gets here first. I'd personally give it even odds, given all I currently know, which is very little. And that's saying something, if you know who has claimed me as Grandson in the Triads.

And yes, Smiley's ability with the Troat Rip is quite impressive and gory. Nice reminder that everything I've heard about him is likely true.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Something has come up recently that I should warn fellow runners about, primarily those who live in the lower-end sprawl zones. I was hired by a neighborhood watch captain to investigate the disappearances of children from their blocks. By the way, few of them are wageslaves, those that are don't work for the rated corps. Naturally, KE rarely if ever sends a car or drone in. I couldn't refuse such a plea, unfortunate though that I wasn't in the position to offer my services for free.

I'll spare you the full story. Suffice it to say, more than a few desperate low-lives were engaged in this process, though ironically, as is the way of Ahriman's abettors, they too became victims of their employer, someone I eventually learned to be an Aztechnology wagemage. This keeb- my apologies to the elves here, but I believe this individual qualifies for the epithet- used the bloody murders to empower blood spirits. I was too late to stop him. If there was any consolation, he was heavily weakened from the ritual and I managed to deal with him and his spirits. I still have no idea, as I write this, what the blood spirits were intended to be used towards or whether the Aztech was the only one. Keep an eye out, chummers.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Azzies practicing blood magic is nothing new. Hell, its practically a requirement to get to the higher levels of power, from what I've heard. But you got lucky, Delir, and don't forget it. The mage likely was overreaching, trying to impress the next level up. Common mistake among the less skilled practitioners.]<<<<<

>>>>>[There, last bastard in the ground.  Send a Earth Spirit after me?  Fine.  I'll just hit up some cousins that know magic and have a bunch of spirits of my own backing me up.  And my other cousins that are combat trained for dealing with wizwyrms.  And myself.  Word is hitting the streets again that the name "Murphy" means "Hard" again.  I may not be my Uncle, but by damned I am Murphy, and that's who I am!

Also, I'm an ork, not a troll as someone suggested here earlier.  It's OK, honest mistake.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Blood mages, or at least wannabes in Seattle, eh? Dosen't suprise me. Ever sence the war down south started up, a lot more have been popping up in unusual places. Blood mages have been high priority targets for Amazonia ever sence hostilities started and then there's still the bounty the DF is offering. Problem is, I've seen lot of people get their hands on bits and pieces of ritual information with some actually deciding that experimenting with it would be a good idea. That "mage" in Redmond was lucky those spirits didn't tear him apart. My company has teams specially trained to deal with blood mages and we still lose at least one to two members per op. Even wannabes are not to be taken lightly. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[Also, by the terms of the Big D's will, only live blood mages qualify for the bounty. What does the DF do with the live blood mages you turn in? I'm fairly certain I don't want to know the answer to that. The rituals and the metamagic teachings are not new. And there are... entities, not unlike the one that Morg was attached to, that wouldn't mind spreading those rituals. Personally, I'm a trained combat mage, and I wouldn't even think about trying for that bounty solo. While the sacrifices pollute the astral and corrupt the user, they do offer him great power in the short term.

Murphy, glad to hear you're dealing with things appropriately. It takes a while to establish a name for yourself when you're young, as every young punk wants a piece of you, to show how tough they are, or some such drek. If you like, I can always ask Mother to give me a copy of the formula for the spell she uses to deal with intruders and assassins. You can put them in a corner, so when the next guy comes in, trying to be bad, you just point at the statue in the corner, and tell him that was the last person who crossed you. Magic still scares the drek out of people, especially magic with serious permanent effects.]<<<<<

>>>>>[The simple answer is that you have to make choices, Morg. What is more important to you? Partying, or passing the class? As for scheduling, I find that most of my work can be fit into either daytime hours, or be incorporated into partying. But then, I'm a noble playboy with a sideline as a male escort. Partying is my day job.

Marak, that is a quote from an old trid.]<<<<<
