Do bonuses to summoning spirits granted by mentor spirits stack with specializations? For example, would a Phoenix shaman get a +4 to summon fire spirits if they specialized?

What I'm unsure on here is if the Power Focus helps summoning as well or if it only affects spellcasting (since there is a 'Summoning Focus' I could understand it not doing so). Of course if it does, it does bring the question of whether a Force 4 Power/Force 4 Summoning stacked focus would affect summoning double.

power foci add to any test where the magic attribute is used. So yes, it help for summoning. However only one focus may be used to add dice to a test, so no stacking of power focus and summoning focus.

I knew the 'one focus' thing, but I've never been all that clear on the stacked foci since they are--in a way--one focus just with multiple affects (this bit of confusion is a big part of why I haven't actually gotten one thus far).

A stacked focus acts as both kinds of focus. In the example you gave, of a Force 4 Power/Force 4 Summoning stacked focus, the Summoning side would be redundant. Really, if one side of a focus is a Power focus, the only things you'd be able to use on the other side would be things like a Weapon focus, Centering focus, and the like. In other words, the ones that apply to all those tests that don't involve the Magic attribute.

Thing to remember about summoning foci is that it has to be for a certain type of spirit. In this case with it being a 4/4 it is redundant. However, you could make a summoning fire spirit rating 6/ power rating 3 focus and then get 6 dice when summoning fire spirits and 3 dice for all other tests.
