What is it?  It's mentioned as a negative quality for mutant critters in Running Wild, but I can't find any mention of what it is or does.

So now I have another question.  How do you determine bite DV?  I ask because there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the stats for bite attacks.

Dogs with 2 strength get DV 2 AP 0, Great Cats with 5 strength get DV 5 AP 0, but Sharks with 3 strength get DV 5 AP 0 and Alligators with strength 7 get DV 6 AP -2.

So how do you determine DV and AP for a critters bite?  I ask because I modified a critters strength.

As a quick rule of thumb, I would still use the Strength as it's base damage.  Where you have DVs that don't directly correlate with the Strength stat, such as with the Shark and Alligator, modify up or down accordingly.  For example, a Shark with 4 Strength would have DV 6 AP 0 (as it's base DV appears to be Strength +2).  The Alligator with Strength 9 would be DV 8 AP -2 (DV = Strength -1, AP -2).

It's certainly not official, but seems like a good estimation on what to do.

They are probably supposed to be STR/2 +/- X. So solve for X, then apply based on new strength. So, for example, dogs must have a STR/2+1 bite. Great cats must have a STR/2+2 bite. Sharks must have a STR/2+3 bite. AP is a fixed property and doesn't change with stats.

Umaro's method looks more correct and correlates well with existing models of strength based damage.  I should have brought out my book before my last post.   ::)
