There are numerous references to ED things 'leaking' through, IMO.  The 'tunnels' appearing throughout the LA Basin during the nukequake (an ancient kaer), the Morel Stone in SRM 04-00 (piece of a liferock, by the sketches), the 'rock-like changeling' that the ex-anti-metahuman Yamatetsu/Evo board member turns into ... Simon.  I do admit I enjoy reading through and finding the hints, intended, ongoing, or not, that link SR to ED...

I remember when YotC was coming out (and then still coming out, and then finally coming out, and then actually coming out ;) ) I thought that they might have used it as an opportunity to bring in the (other) ED races. Wasn't to be. Maybe in SR5, or SR6, depending how long it takes the Mana levels to get high enough. 2112 sounds like a nice number in-game if all else fails ;)

There was a mention of an artifact in Artifacts Unbound that's name translated as "Life Rock/stone"

Technically, Changeling....

However, there was mention of an artifact with creatures that looked just like him...

Technically, yes, he's a SURGE Changeling. But we all know the REAL reason Lofwyr's taken an interest in him... ;)
