Gain a +1 dice pool bonus per
level on any defensive tests.

So, this should apply to defense against Indirect combat and Direct Combat spells, correct?

Personally, until there is clarification (which SSDR says is under review), I will let the power work against any physical attack and indirect combat spells - or in other words, any attack that can be dodged because it is tangible and can be perceived, and has a point of origin away from you and travels via a line of attack towards you to strike.

Arguably since its a lower case "defense" used in the power description it's the common English definition of "defense" which could be anything really.  Obviously that is not intended.

When I GM I'll let it add to the opposed check vs Ranged, Melee, and Indirect Combat Spells because that is what Combat Sense did in 5th Edition.

Which still makes it one of the best Adept powers available.
