This is rolls and the normal 'table' chit-chat.

You guys, are not part of the work crew BTW. It just sets the scene that it's important enough for the Chulos to clean up the barrens for the party.

Just wanted to playing with some skills and rolls and stuff, because I'm really new player only just now starting to understand the hard mechanics of the game. Let me know if any of my calculations are wrong.

[Casting Improved Invisibility, Force 4]
Improved Invisibility, Force 4 Magic (4) + Spellcasting (3)= (7d6.hits(5)=0)
[Drain Test]
Drain Test, DV 3 Willpower (5) + Charisma (7) = (12d6.hits(5)=5)
[Drain Resisted. Trying to re-cast that:]
Improved Invisibility, Force 4 Magic (4) + Spellcasting (3) = (7d6.hits(5)=2)
[Drain Test]
Drain Test, DV 3 Willpower (5) + Charisma (7) = (12d6.hits(5)=4)
[Drain Resisted]
[Infiltration Roll]
Infiltration Roll Infiltration (6) + Agility (4) = (10d6.hits(5)=5)
[Perception Roll]
Perception Roll Intuition (3) - 1 for Defaulting = (2d6.hits(5)=1)

Also, any more information on what's going on ICly right now? What sort of state are the Chulos in? What's this big party celebarting? Would our characters have any inkling?

Ugh, caught a mistake already. My sustaining focus is only force 2, which means it couldn't carry my invisibility spell, which is force 4. Can we just pretend I can it at force 2? I think you can ignore your hits or something, purposefully reduce them in order to make them fit into the focus... right? I think I remember reading that somewhere. *flips through his book*

Ignoring hits for that purpose is fine, up to the GM about the drain though.

I'll rule that the focus will 'store' the rating 2 spell at its focus rating...ie 2. (You have [spell] rating 2 running on it).

You can remove hits from your roll, as always. Removing is okay, it's adding them that's a problem. :)

Something to consider about Improved Invisibility is that hits are capped by force, and the benefit it has over regular mental invisibility is that it's supposed to hide you from cameras.  But to do that, the spell needs to beat the cameras' Object Resistance, or OR.  That specific value is 3, so should you need to hide from sensors and such during a run, don't count on your focus to hold it for you.

Thanks for the advice, Kontact. I was kind of just screwing around in my opening post... Smiles is the kind of guy that would cast spells all day just 'cause he can. But when actual mission time comes, I doubt I'll be casting anything under Force 4. But it's good to know what the actual threshold is for cameras... where can I find that information in the book?

Also, it's been a few days now and only three of the players have posted. Boer, have you sent PMs to the other players knowing they've been accepted? It happened to me in the Missions thread; I posted my character sheet and then kind of forgot about, figuring I'd be informed when and if I was accepted into the thread. By the time I got a PM from the GM, I found out the game had already been going on for days with my character explictly in it, and everybody was growing impatient for my first post!

Point is, it can be helpful to send reminders.

Boer told me to let you guys know that he is having a MONITOR issue.  I told him to stop looking at the Chulo dwarf porn, but what can you say. lol  He should be back on tomorrow which will be 2/4/2011, so he can update the story.

Myra, looking at the bet lines. Curses at the spreads. "ah, hell going to be one those weeks. She goes out for a beer and to see how the chulos are doing. After scoping out the area a bit she finds a nice place to have a drink and to keep an eye out on the activity.

Shouldn't this go in [IC]?
