The Combat Mage is hardly be best spellslinger out there. But when the crud hits the fan, he'll be there beside you after any other mage you've ever known would be down or fled. While he can trade bullets with the best, he doesn't really need weapons - he is a weapon. Sometimes it seems he laughs all the harder going into a fight if he has nothing but his fists and mind to rely on.
