For the longest time he just stood there.  Listening to her story as it unfolded.  Occasionally he would look at Titania and see that she was processing all of what Amy was saying with him.  A heavy feeling began to ache within him, it felt like sorrow.  The kind of melancholy you would feel when you go to a funeral late.  His expression became one of gloom, sad and dire.  This was not what he wanted.  This is what he tried to stop.  Once Amy concluded her tale, Maxwell took a few steps next to her and rested a thin hand atop her head.  He ran his fingers gently through her hair a few times and spoke.

"Amy... this... this isn't your fault.  I know you didn't ask for this.  I know you didn't want this.  What you wanted was to not be apart of his bullshit.  What you wanted was for your friend to not be apart of it either.  Now you're paying a price that was never yours to begin with."

He looks over at the pixie and sympathetically says.  "I'm sorry little one.  I didn't mean to place you in danger like that.  I didn't know that were the reasons why."

Athos nods at Paprika and motions for her to continue on.  His huge revolver is in his hand, though.  If she is whispering, there may still be trouble ahead.

@Athos as you are sneaking you see a touched corpse. Paprika examines it and say "This was no ghoul - with the death count in the city there is plenty of food for them. Someone torched this person a flame thrower perhaps? powerful flame too, look how crisp the bones are. He was instantly killed."  Shortly after there is another body with similar characteristics and then you encounter faith as she encounters the third body.

Athos is surprised on how she'd go alone in the sewers like that, faith whispers
"Nice of you to join, something very strange  happened here. These friends of mine were transfering 'food' to a vampire that lives nearby. Don't ask about the terrible stuff these creatures eat, but something got them before they completed the delivery.

Needless to say that when you work for vampires the consequences for mis delivery may be severe. This vampire may be so angry and so detached from his humanity that he can just wipe up the entire group of smugglers in retaliation. They were skilled trackers, sneaky too but something killed them - burned them to the ground.  This contract is what keeps an entire community floating, we need to figure it out.

Usually they'd place the Pixie at the end of this pipe and then collect a credstick. That way the living and the undead never meet each other and there are no mistakes. The credstick is there and has the right amount - so I find it hard to beleive that the Vampire did it."

@Maxwell Amy seems to enjoy your hand in her hair and as you touch her she quickly pulls herself closer to your embrace. "aren't you afraid of me? I am dangerous now - a monster is there anything to save?"

The little pixie is still terrified she tries to fly but cannot, so she seats down at the floor and appears lost, she finds one of the corners of the room and seats there using her camouflage to disappear from sight.

@Minnie and Edge - Ge gives a warm hug to Minnie and say "You really saved my life, even if we never make it. You reminded me of how passionate I can actually be." He then kisses her passionately. Nagisa looks at them and is uncertain how to behave she is obviously irritated. She seats next to edge and finally say "women... go figure."

Kynos frowned as he read the texts:
"So, if I get this straight, DemoX is Boom Boom. Boy, this dwarf is dumber than a sack of bricks. Calls a mercenary outfit for help instead of contacting me. I really need to work on my image it seems.

Well, time to make a call it seems."

Kynos dialed the commcode attached to the message to Casa:

Maxwell bends down, trying to match the height of the shorter woman.  He wraps both arms around her and bear hugs Amy.  Minutes pass and he lets go, standing up straight and resuming his normal stance.  He places a knuckled fist under his chin and rubs it in contemplation.  After he was done pondering her question, he folds his arms and tells her.  "You're not a monster.  You may be dangerous now, or more dangerous I should say.  But that doesn't make you or anyone a monster.  What makes someone a monster is what Grail did to you.  He captured you and threatened you to work for him.  When you wanted out and tried to escape with your friend..."

He becomes angrier, his voice trembling with rage.  "He raped you!  And he did it knowing that you couldn't resist or fight back, that you'd enjoy it!  He drained and killed you after he was done!  Infecting you to be as cursed as him!  You didn't deserve any of that!"

Maxwell closes his eyes after his outburst and grits his teeth.  He exhales sharply and opens his eyes that are filled with dark empathy.  "You're not a monster.  Not in my eyes."

Athos nods, "So which group of smugglers did they belong to?  Maybe we can bring them into the fold.  I have to say I am a bit uncomfortable trafficking in vampire food, especially the live sort.  We might as well take the credstick and take it to these smugglers as it might be a good way to at least start a chat with them."

"Ready when you are," I answer Edge.  "The sooner we can get Gi into the air, the better for everyone," I add with a glance at Nagisa.

@Athos Faith said "Focus Athos, we cannot take the credstick without delivering the goods it bought.  You do not cross people that consider you their food, despite your emotions of this contract it was made and my friends are committed. They were hired because they can deliver in a discreet manner - making the Vampire angrier is out of the question I am not here to start a war."

She examines the body and said - "Whomever killed them did not do so to rob them, their belongings are intact." She packs them up nicely comlinks included and hands them to Paprika. "Take these to their families" Faith said and Paprika nodded. Athos can notice the subtle situation were Paprika will not speak to Faith unless addressed to. Perhaps he is getting more socially aware.

The next step is a bit more gore as with a skill of surgeon Faith removes the cybereyes of one of smugglers. She does not seem effected by the visuality of the display and packs her utility knife as soon as she finishes. She say - "Athos - do you know anyone who might figure out what these eyes saw before their owner died?" She packs the eyes with a piece of cloth and hands them to Athos.

Then she say to Paprika "Have our men clean up this scene, take the bodies to the regular place sell them to the ghouls we cannot leave them here as they will attract unwanted attention."

To Athos she said "Now if you excuse me,  I am going to apologize to one hungry vampire. You can stay here if you prefer." She does not wait for an answer and proceed with a confident step and an arrow ready in her bow carefully toward the end of the pipe.

@Kynos Casa replies ">> I know no such man, how did you get my number?" Balls say "Important dudes - it is not very difficult there are not many hotels with 11 floors. We know the room number and most hotels are empty now because of the problems, we can figure it up with some sweet talking and comlink calls - order room service or something."


Gerald say "It seems like our day just gets better and better heh Kynos, DemoX trusts few people if he called these people I doubt they are going to kill him - tough he has some serious money problems due to his gambling addiction - He owe most of his contacts some money. I thought it will be better after he got black listed in every casino in town but it didn't actually - someone keeps taking his money." ."

@Maxwell - Maxwell Amy said "shhh... thinks not about it, lets hope that he died trying to take over the world." then she say "It is so romantic how strongly you feel about these things..." and leans to kiss you.

He goes with the flow and lowers himself to kiss her back.  Her lips met his and they were cool to the touch.  His tongue slowly twirled inside her mouth as they kissed, it was cold and wet with a faint metallic taste.  It felt like he was kissing someone who had spent a midnight outside in winter's frost.  Maxwell was getting chills, not from discomfort per se but from the sheer lack of warmth.  Eventually he breaks the embrace and holds an open hand to her face asking.  "Can you even feel that?"

Athos nods at Paprika as she moves off.  "I know a couple of ghouls that can do something with cyberware.  Perhaps they can help.  Beyond that, I am coming with you.  I might not be able to stop a vampire if he attacks, but maybe I can delay him long enough to let you do something."  He keeps his pistol in his hands and follows Faith.
