Boom, yes, eight hour day. But, attempting any additional study ie pulling double shifts, will be counter-productive as the mind and body have limits on what it can effectively learn from diligent study.

Thanks for that clarification, Smiles.  And don't worry.  I won't be attempting to pull double-training time with skills and such.  It's just good to know that I'll have time for other things besides training as appropriate

Note that there are tutor soft for all mundane skills. - aquiring low ratings at skills (until 4) is rating days and tutorsoft reduces the number of days by it's successes.

as we are tight on time this might be a good investment.

Hello my friends.  Discussed with Smiles that I was going to drop in to provide that clue.  I'm going to try to finish out the chapter with you.  I haven't managed to catch up on all the posts yet.  Thinking that maybe I won't so that I don't have OOC knowledge of events.  Let me know if you think that is an ok idea or if Matthew needs to know what happened to cut down on "while you were out" catch up stuff IC.

Adding a new spell with karma I never spent.  Posted here for reference for Smiles. 

MANA WINDOW (ASTRAL WINDOW)
(ACTIVE, DIRECTIONAL)
Type: M Range: T
Duration: S Drain: F – 3

These spells are advanced versions of Clairvoyance
(p. 286, SR5) and Astral Clairvoyance (p. 106) that allow
the caster to grant a subject the ability to see or assense
through mana barriers (which normally stop Clairvoyance
and are opaque on the astral). If the barrier does
not resist the spell with its Force, the subject can see/assense
distant scenes through the barrier as if physically
or astrally present within the sensory range of the spell.
Magicians cannot cast spells at targets they see using
these spells. Casting these spells does not alert the creator
of the mana barrier.
Mana Window bypasses mana barriers on the physical
plane with its clairvoyant physical sight. Astral Window
bypasses astral mana barriers with its clairvoyant
assensing. The caster must touch the subject of the spell,
and for Astral Window the subject must be astrally active.


And for reference, the Astral Clairvoyance Spell:

Astral Clairvoyance is a variant of the Clairvoyance
spell (p. 286, SR5) designed to work in the astral plane.
The subject may project her assensing ability as though
she were astrally present at a chosen point within the
sensory range of the spell. This “visual point” may be
moved to any other location within the sensory range
of the spell at will. During the spell, the subject’s normal
assensing is overlaid with the insight gained from this
spell. This has the unfortunate side effect of blocking out
her natural physical senses.
Magicians cannot use Astral Clairvoyance to target
others with spells.

Total of 20,500 spent in a shopping spree. - but now Marco can learn skills very quickly.

Other things for Marco's karma -
20 karma for the spiritual adept way.  - It will allow Marco to channel his Qi more efficiently and learn how to perceive the astral. (again?)

RPed as Marco's desire to understand spirits and to emulate them as well as to find a mentor spirit.  I am not sure exactly how long it is before Marco 'aquire' the way so I am leaving it to Smiles. For Marco it will be a way of life - he will gradually come to understand that his real magical education came from Agrat - rather than from Catholic Theurgy - but letting go of the divine truth will be difficult. The more I initiate Marco the more he will have his own set of believes that diverge form mainstream Catholicism.

Right now he is unaware of how many of his 'truth' are actually the Catholic version of things and how different Jed actually is. He reads about other traditions but did not interact much with non catholic mages.  Jed is right - Marco is arrogant and his words are way too advanced for his actual understanding in magic. That said he beleives in them in the same way he believes in a single deity. There has to be just one truth - it is impossible that contradicting traditions are both truth. If they both work it is because both has some truth but are both wrong in some manner that makes them appear conflicting.

This will be a fun journey for Marco. And what I'm thinking right now is that it will be done in both gradual understandings of different magical theories and lightening fast breakthroughs that allow new revelations.

I'm considering having Jed buy Marco a Chi focus for Astral Perception.  Let me know if bonding an F4 focus for that purpose would work in your advancement plan.  I don't have the money for it now, but it is something that will occur to Jed as he starts to meet this talismonger.  I like the potential RP for this situation.
