Mainly added in response to Bushw4cker asking for examples of other Metahuman Deckers. First character I generated, though had some revisions before hitting this state. I did forget a few key things (mainly licences), but that has since been sorted. Idea was initially to go for a Dwarf Axe-wielding meleer, but then our group technomancer dropped out, and I volunteered to fill the void. So instead it's a Dwarf Decker that goes by the Runner name "Low Tech", uses a matrix handle "BroadAxe923", double bladed axe as his icon, and slashes as his marks. After our first run the GM allowed rebuilds, and I'd found my deck was too high, and I was too deck focussed, so I dropped down from Sony deck, and blew the difference on Cyberarm and Cerebral Booster - the former because I liked the idea, plus it gave me much improved weapon dice, the latter because of effectiveness. I massaged skills a bit too, as I figured lower rating skills were easy adds post chargen. He's a total social misfit, prone to being overlooked, but is seriously into his tech (in our first session, we were sent to sort out threats to a bar. There was loads of AR graffiti, and he hacked his way in to clear it, as it was easier than asking for permission, which would have been given). When bored just tends to use BTL. My hope is that over time he'll get out more with all this shadowrunning, and eventually conquer his addiction and social problems.

Priorities - Resource A, Skills B, Metatype C, Attributes D, Magic E.
Attributes:
Body 4
Agility 3 (6 using cyberarm)
Reaction (3) 5
Strength 3
Willpower 4
Logic (6) 8
Intuition 4
Charisma 1
Essence 3.4
Edge 2

Qualities:
Positive : Blandness, Codeslinger - Hack on the Fly
Negative : Addiction (mild) - BTL, Allergy (uncommon) - Grass, Uncouth

Skills:
Armorer 1
Automatics 6
Automotive Mechanic 1
Cybercombat 6
Demolitions 1
Electronic Warfare 6
Electronics Group 5 (Computer, Hardware, Software)
Etiquette 1
Gymnastics 1
Hacking 6 (+2 vs Devices)
Industrial Mechanic 1
Perception 1
Pilot Ground Craft 1
Running 1
Swimming 1

Knowledge:
Engineering 3 (professional)
Local Engineering Co's 2 (street)
Matrix Games 4 (interests)
Seattle Street Gangs 2 (street)
Street Drugs 5 (street) (+2 BTL)

Language:
'1337 speak 3
Engish native

Augments (all standard):
Cyberarm (Mainhand, Agility 6, Strength 8, Renraku Tsurugi deck built in, miniwelder built in on wrist (GM call to allow))
Damper
Datajack
Flare Compensation
Image Link
Reaction Enhancers, rating 2
Cerebral Booster, rating 2

Equipment:
AK-97 with Thermographic flashlight and Tripod (normal and stick and shock ammo)
Lined Coat with AR gloves and Feedback clothing (always wears it)
Helmet with Biomonitor and Vision Enhancement 5 (wears in action)
Sunglasses with Vision Enhancement 3 (wears otherwise)
GMC Bulldog Van (has Hardware Shop, toolkits for other skills, Maglock 6 with anti Tamper 4 and Biometric reader)
Agent 4 for the deck in Cyberarm, and all the programs.
Meta Link Commlink (burner)
Transys Avalon Commlink (PAN master)
Loads of misc B&E and tags, tag eraser, etc, mostly in Van.
Fake SIN rating 4 with low lifestyle + DocWagon Basic
Fake SIN rating 1 (burner) with street lifestyle

Contacts :
Fixer (2 points to group pool)
Software supplier, DannyBoi27, 3 connection, 2 loyalty

That was charactergen. A few runs in now, and he's added some skills and kit:
Specialised in Assault Rifles (Automatics), Cyberdecks (Hardware)
Learned First Aid, Medicine, got rating 3 Medkit (in pocket) and rating 6 medkit (in van)
Perception increased to 2
Added Enhanced Agility 3, Enhanced Armor 3 and Large Smuggling Compartment to Cyberarm
Got Ares Crusader II as backup weapon (fits in smuggling compartment, one handed so uses 9 agility rather than 6 (average of 3 and 9))
Got his licences (rating 4 against Fake SIN 4, rating 1 against Fake SIN 1)
Got another SIN as the Fake rating 1 was getting hot (not burned as still situationally useful - he basically has far too high a profile in one place, but has useful contacts there), rating 3 with licences at the same.
Got a couple more contacts
Post Run Faster, got garage for the Van and a Grid Subscription.

Note - GM ruled that medkit adds to limit of number of boxes healed also, makes sense rulewise, and means he doesn't have to hesitate about hitting our Mage healer.

As stated above, was only posted to help Bushw4cker, but thoughts welcomed anyway.

Thanks for Posting. I'm curious what 8-Bit thinks of this character

Metahuman deckers are pretty well suited for karmagen since it allows you to have a solid Edge score (something I've found vital for deckers) without making the full sacrifice of prioritizing race higher than you may want to.

Well, I prefer Muscle Replacement over a Cyberarm. If you are going Cyberarm(s), this build already has a lot of investment into Attributes that it doesn't exactly need. Personally, I would rather have Intuition and Willpower 5, and a Charisma of 2. The main problem with Cyberarms, in my opinion, is that you cannot just dump the Attributes, as Cyberarms don't cover everything (like movement rates, Physical Limit, carry capacity, etc.)

Uncouth is a trap Quality. It's a good way to actually get your team killed, as you are completely Unaware of social skills. Speaking of those, 1 Etiquette and 1 Charisma is not going to get you past anything that needs a test. Maybe if you had a 4+ Charisma, but 1 Charisma means you have to invest in the skill.

Armorer, Automotive Mechanic, Demolitions, Industrial Mechanic, Running and Swimming don't seem to have much use to me. Maybe Running and Demolitions, but those are better to pick up after character creation. I would raise Etiquette and Perception, as those are both pretty crucial skills that you don't want to fail.

Most of the 'ware could easily be set to Used Grade, saving Money and lowering Availability (to get Reaction Enhancers 3, for instance). Image Link is redundant if you have a Datajack, but I would probably get Cybereyes at that point anyway. The character still has a lot of Essence to spare.

Lined Coat doesn't need AR Gloves if you have a Datajack. DNI removes the need for Image Link or AR Gloves. The Helmet is illegal with Vision Enhancement 5, or at least, it is without a GM decision. While the book doesn't say it has a limit, Cybereyes can only go to Vision Enhancement 3, and most tables I've been at rule it the same way for normal optical devices. Then again, it depends on your GM.

Everything else seems all right.

Oh, Uncouth is definitely a trap quality, but has also been a major source of amusement at the table.

Thanks for the thoughts. I built using herolab, so if Vision Enhancement 5 is illegal, it doesn't know. I guess because (unusually) no max is given in the rulebook for it's rating as an enhancement (rather than augment) not all play that way. Sounds like it could be errata'd (if a second errata pass is ever done, definitely a few still needed, like how untrained medkit use can heal if limited to 0 boxes restored).

You are absolutely right on all those improvements. The skills were largely for flavour, as he's a tinkerer, though with his logic the mechanics ones are handy (and we've already had one factory game where industrial mechanic had a lot of use). Running, Swimming and Etiquette were all GM requests.

You're right on Used grade 'ware, but somehow it just makes me go 'ew'. The cyberarm was a late addition for flavour too, though one that (once upgraded post chargen) should help quite a bit in combat.

Thanks for the thoughts.

== Background ==
French born, corporate raised. Employed by Evo as a corporate counter-intelligence matrix operator. NOT a simple security spider, but an operative whose job was to go out and beat the hackers at their own game. Etienne typically worked in areas such as financial fraud and insurance investigation. He was also sometimes loaned to "cleaner" teams who would be sent out to punish those who had taken action against the corporation. A mostly loyal corporate citizen, he was burned by a coworker who framed him for falsely authenticating an expensive artifact that was actually a forgery, leading to a large loss on an insurance claim. Etienne spent 18 months in a (admittedly white collar) prison, and then was discharged from Evo with a criminal sin. Not able to find any legitimate work, he relocated out of Europe and now sells his services to the highest bidder.

The coworker who burned him had an unexplained accident a few months after Etienne's release, when the car he was riding in suddenly broke free of grid guide control and plunged off a bridge. Etienne maintains this had nothing to do with the fact that he left Europe for North America 12 hours later, by means of an unregistered berth on a bulk freighter.

== Concept ==
Hacker and expert forger.
