Kat did not provide you with contacts. I provided you with 2. I don't recall if anyone else gave you any.

Also, I'm getting beyond irritated with the WYSIWYG editor randomly converting sections of text to size 2.

Ah, yes.  Those were images and such.  Tecumseh, lemme know if those would just be public searches then (images and such).  I'll use the first two rolls for Ohanzee, and the next three on data about what Katsina gave me, as that was the order I received the data in.

Contents of the video I sent the team:

You find the following video on your new cyberdeck:

You look down at your arm, checking out the cyberdeck screen on your forearm and hitting a few buttons on it.

"Yeah, you see that? You see, you fucking dick biscuit? I took your shit and made it my shit. Your deck is my deck now. Fucking asshole shooting my motherfuckin' gear." You hear yourself say, before lowering your arm to look down at the table in front of you, where the broken Renraku Tsurugi sits in pieces. Hardware and Cybertechnology tools are also littered about, making it obvious that you just switched out the decks.

"Look at what you did! LOOK AT IT! Didn't even have the decency to spare the drives, trog knocker. Do you have any idea how many files I lost? My whole trid library! All my music! All my porn! If I hadn't already killed you I'd kill you again!" You turn around at this point, seeing a body on another table, a sizeable hole in the skull where an implant was torn out. You point your arm at the body palm first and you hear the massive retort of a shotgun, and the head is pulped by the blast of flechette.

"Oh well, I guess I'll have to start over. I'll just have to make this video the first entry in a new collection of my dead enemies. Peace out, sweat monkey. I'm gonna feed your corpse to the barghests in the yard. Hope you rot in hell."

The video ends. You have the disturbing realization that you may have been something of a psychopath.

Oh crap!  I just realized there was a reference to the barghests in the yard!  That's probably something we can use to check on also.  I'll add that to my growing list of things to search on.  Damn I wish APB hadn't bit it.

Sure.

@Malevolence I was under the impression we had already done some searches on your contacts. With the site moving as slowly as it is, I'm having trouble searching for old posts. Do you recall any of this or did I make it up? Perhaps I'm conflating this with what I wrote to someone else. Let me know if his rings any bells so that I can be as consistent as possible.

Details about the photo search and the smuggling knowledge coming ICly.

@Zweiblumen
Go ahead and copy-n-paste that video description into your IC post.

And you don't know that much about dog fighting. Porn... you're a seasoned critic.

There were some cursory searches on our way into Aspen. No information turned up on them, just descriptions of their physical addresses. So long as there are no reports of them mysteriously disappearing or meeting untimely ends, I think I can consider them reasonably safe to contact.

Finally found the old post I was looking for. The site is still slower than mud, which does not help when you're trying to dig through old threads for messages you half-remember.

Doc can talk and interact with others while he's conducting Matrix Searches. I'll post ICly with what Doc learns.

Okay, gonna list some thoughts in here to compare notes, then I'll get an IC up with what Doc is thinking:

#1 Looks like Katsina was either in or near Boulder.
#2 Sam has a house in Boulder that was being watched.
#3 It would have taken Doc 3+ hours to change the ownership of the deck, so he was in that room for a long time without being hassled/shot at/lost memory.
#4 Sam would have had plenty of time to build his bomb in that same timeframe.
#5 (maybe) I recall someone had video of some/all of us fighting our way out of the building?  Site being the way it is, I'm hoping someone has notes on this and we don't have to use the search feature.  Time stamps on that and time stamps on the ownership change of my deck can help flesh out our timeline
#6 it's possible the facility had barghests, so we can try and narrow down *where* the building was to help out with the timeline

...
Man, wish we'd had even one full day in Aspen.  Would help if I could make a run on host that has Gloria's files in it.  Maybe when we get settled I can get ballsy and try a remote run on the host.

If I've got all of the correct, Doc'll point this out.

Broadly correct.

#1 Katsina has photos from the mountains near Boulder. There is no indication of who took them.

#5 Yes, you took this from the guys in the helicopter:

Quote
.... ID for the soldiers, which identify them as a Knight Errant security HTR squad. There's also a file with an image of a strange metallic statue or tablet or something. Just looks like a weird geometric shape to you. There are also several pictures of you, Uncle Sam, Chino and Ohanzee, which look like they were taken from security cameras.

There's also a video. When played, it shows a camera with an outside view of some structure, pointed at a wall. Then the wall explodes outwards and Chino stumbles through, looking like he just kicked the wall open like it was a door with a bad latch. Following him are yourself and Ohanzee, who is gesturing towards the crate and levitating it through. Then Uncle Sam comes out, walking backwards while firing back through the breach on full auto.

Any timestamps on the video?  Also, when I check the deck, what was the time stamp of ownership change?

Also, guessing that I've finished my searches now.  Got some more to do from what Ace sent me.

Deck Config:
Toolbox, Browse, Encryption, Agent
A: 4 S: 5 D: 7 (8 ) F: 6 (7)

Gonna have both Doc and his Agent search on both as these may be trickier:
Matrix Search on Rhodes Computer(5) + Intuition(4) + Ganglia (1) = 10: 10d6t5 3 (limit 8 )
Agent Matrix Search on Rhodes 12+2 + 2 for VR = 16: 16d6t5 7 (limit 8 ) that will get something back fast! :)

Matrix Search on gunslinger Computer(5) + Intuition(4) + Ganglia (1) = 10: 10d6t5 4 (limit 8 ) maybe something?
Agent Matrix Search on gunslinger 12+2 + 2 for VR = 16: 16d6t5 4 (limit 8 ) 'bout the same thing.

Now that I have a proper keyboard, so much to catch up on:
Re: Ogallala Peak, yes, that is Ohanzee's last name (well, technically Oglala, but the pronunciation led to some towns and other geographic features being called Ogallala, such as the Ogalalla Aquifer and Ogallala, Nebraska. Despite the different spellings, they are one in the same. However, the Oglala were a Sioux tribe, which is where I assumed Ohanzee ("Shadow") took his last name for his fake SIN. IC, I'm not sure Ohanzee would see that similarity as relevant - the grographic clustering seems more likely to be the relevant clue. From a metagaming standpoint, specifically calling out the parallel makes me wonder if it is more relevant than just the geography.

Speaking of metagaming, I'd largely assumed that the contacts that did not have conversations attached were likely just resources to call upon like a normal contact and not particularly relevant to the story, but was not making that assumption IC and thus making a point of double checking everything. The detail on Ohanzee's two contacts largely supports that. Long Shadow does have me wondering - he'd sell you out for a dollar and trying to use him to find info on the artifact could easily put people with more money to throw at him on our tails. Styles seems solid enough though - it's a nice trick that he is connected, but he won't share any information about other runners or jobs that might have gone through him. We'd have to hope that our opposition isn't part of his "family", otherwise we won't get anything useful out of him. Its a good way to force us to do our own legwork.

Also, speaking of nice tricks, Katsina's avoidance of sharing what she knows about the artifact was masterful. Props to Tecumseh. The internal dialog has me wondering if she has MPD or some other fractured personality disorder, or just hears voices. Also, considering the internal dialog, she may even be self-delusional. I'm not familiar enough with 4e NQs to determine which it might be, but it's probably better that way.

Blue Team was full of right psychopaths it seems. My dream sequence flash backs of Ohanzee being a bit of a dick (heh, "pulă") might have been way on the mild side. If Chino and Doc were psychos, I wonder if Sam and Ohanzee were too. Both of them seemed to like to record their deeds, though, and Sam and Ohanzee don't have any such recordings, so that may not be the case, but I'd have to worry. Of course, no one knows about Chino's recording yet, so this is purely OOC speculation.

Question about the dead decker in Doc's video though - any identifying clothing or marks that might allow us to determine who he worked for? No description was given in the writeup, but it could be relevant.

Yes, a timeline would probably be a good call. I've got to head to a dentist appt, but I can try to cull together all of the timestamps we have so far into a general timeline later. I don't recall if the photos had any timestamps on them, but so far that is the only physical evidence that Doc has from Red Team that would provide any inkling of a timeline for them. Well, and Ace's gunslinger image, which may or may not have a timestamp. He has not been provided conversations that would provide context and timestamps. OOC we could build something, so I'll try to highlight the things that are not known to Doc (which he is presumably sharing and so are thus known to all of Purple Team). Could be a few hours though.

We actually need to let a bit of time pass ICly before we get more results in from matrix searches. The current time is 4:30ish. Let's determine what the plan is for the next 5-15 minutes before more search results roll in.

You're in Carbondale but need to decide where to go or what to do. Since the town is small (6,500), options are limited. There is one motel in town. It's a two-star establishment, fairly basic, but better than a coffin motel.

If you can get to Defiance (Glennwood Springs) there will be many more options. Even though it's only a bit bigger (10,000), it's on the freeway and serves a lot of passing motorists and truckers. There are at least 12 options there, ranging from coffin to artsy to family-friendly (i.e. pool with water slide). However, the tires of the Bulldog won't last that long. Chino can already tell that they're close to giving out.

Running off to a meeting. I'll get more information up about timestamps after that.
