Well Handsome Jack could be from my old boss, could be someone I used to escape and setup the removal of the cortex bomb.
Deadeye could be someone I worked with after the boss, could be used by my boss. If you want a more tenuous connection he could have knowledge of the man that pulled the trigger on my sister and I work with him in hopes of getting the name.
Not sure how I could link to the mages

it would certainly be possible (imo) to tie them up as a connection during a operation that was not what James expected (unwritten one so far, the character in the background is outlined w/ Smiles but i never put it to writing on the background), "slick chick" Woojin Koryö, the job was simple extraction, a in-betweener "slick chick" a transsexual elven Korean descendant, a getaway driver also acting as eyes in the sky.

Quote
It was supposed to be an extraction. That was what he'd been told. He'd helped this crew with a couple before. Hadn't clicked that they were always young women, and he'd always been on security on the perimeter. But this time Slick was puking his guts out in the middle of the run, just useless. They needed him closer in. And that's when he smelled it. They weren't relaxed or asleep. They were doped to the eyeballs. Slick noticed him noticing. Tried to pass it off as the girls being sick and he didn't need them puking too, was letting them sleep it off. And put Deadeye back on perimeter. But Deadeye wasn't buying it, well, at least not without some checking. He'd gotten a pic of 1 of the girls, all he had time for before Slick had sent him off. And he got in contact with Firebug, a hacker from his army days. Being on perimeter actually helped with that. Didn't take Firebug long to find out the girl had been kidnapped. Didn't take him long to find out that a slave trafficing ring operated out of this area either.

kudos to Smiles has she is entitled to 99.99% of all the background (i only came up with his names) but could be a starting place for James and Jack, maybe Jack knew it all along but could not do anything about it, James starts moving strings and making things happen to shut the whole operation, maybe Jack confronts him, Mexican standout, accusation flying guns at the ready winding in grudgingly acceptance of circumstances maybe.

i also had it marked as a possible connection (the truth about the operation) with the Dissasemblers gang, them being the recipients of the cargo.

What is the current list of players/characters?   ???

As for Tobias, he's lived in Denver off and on for the last ten years or so running the shadows while in residence.  The rest of the time he's been around the world a few times, usually (but not always) in remote locations.  He could have crossed paths with Deadeye in some cantina in South America then re-crossed in Denver at a later date.  If Csjarrat is in I could definitely tie in with his character since we both have a longer background in running the shadows than the rest.

Well, I've got The Professor. In shadowrun teams, he's not the street sam, decker or mage. He functions as an auxiliary supporter, unusually knowledgeable, and capable of providing assistance back up to the team. His strange device that he carries around with him, seems to allow him various feats that should be impossible, and he's always tinkering with it.

He is on the up and up of british high fashion, and swing music.
He's skilled at messing with electronics, and locks.
He loves finding out secret knowledge, be it in the matrix or the meat world.

Possible connection points for him would be High Society with our Face, Matrix Boards for the decker rigger and the like.
Concepts are great, but implementation sucks. Why not improve it?

@Jim, if I get a slot then we def could have crossed paths. My guy is on the run after a job went south in denver. He's a weapon specialist so is pretty handy in all range brackets in a fight and used to work private security details before ending up in the shadows. He did a short term contract as a weapons trainer for docwagon also.

@Trisk - You haven't posted any background on your character that I could find so it is hard to figure what linkage might exist.  If you do have it posted somewhere could you put a link up?  I might have missed it.  Thanks.

also, celtiburo, derren was in the UCAS too, logistics corp for a couple of years. not a front line soldier, but possible that they would have crossed paths on exercise or training. He also competed within the army on the rifle range.
edit: so guys, i officially got the slot.

depends on when he was in the service, if he was at least 9 to 2 years ago it would fit the timeframe, but most likely he would have known James father if not James himself.

Connections:

Handsome Jack encountered Shade a couple of years back when Jack was contracted by the gangster Slick Sammy, who had his driver, Shade, take Jack to a meet with a rival gangster to deliver a package. During the trip out Handsome Jack engaged Shade in conversation and learned that Shade was being coerced by Slick Sammy, his life held in thrall by a cortical bomb. On the return trip Jack offered to connect Shade with a trusted street doc who could remove the bomb once Shade eliminated Slick Sammy, as well as helping to plan Shade's escape from Slick Sammy's vengeful associates, but that he would not assist Shade in killing his boss nor did Jack want to know any details of how the hit would take place. Jack could truthfully say that he was not involved in Slick Sammy's death, other than having foreknowledge that it would happen and by whose hand. Since Slick Sammy wasn't paying Jack for anything more than being a messenger, Jack wasn't ethically bound to report to the gangster that his days were numbered. Jack's reputation would remain clean of any allegation of betraying an employer.

Jack met The Professor at Jack's favorite night club a few weeks ago. The fellow, perhaps a tad too inebriated for discretion, was showing off some of his rather special talents to a girl he was not having much success in impressing. But he did impress Jack, who had only heard rumors of the existence of technomancers prior to that night, and Jack quickly swooped in to steal The Professor's attention. Treating the man to a nice steak dinner, and in the process sobering him up enough for a lucid conversation, they chatted for several hours until the restaurant closed for the night. Being potentially useful to each other, the new friends agreed to keep in touch and parted company, one sated and in much need of sleep, the other a bit wiser and somewhat lighter of coin than when the night began.

On that.. the Professor would hardly get drunk, not really in his forte` there. Nor would he reveal he is a technomancer so easily just to impress a girl.

However, what he would use is his custom designed flashlight thingy. using it, to make it seem the device itself is doing the technomancy, rather than himself.

Trisk, then I'll let you write up what your character did in the nightclub to attract Jack's attention. It would  have to be something that would make you stand out from the crowd. Something that would pique Jack's interest enough to get him to treat your character to a real (not soy) steak dinner in a nice, quiet restaurant where they could spend hours getting to know each other.
