So, with 5th edition coming up quick, what else is left for 4th edition releases? I don't think Eurowars Antiques has been released yet, except as part of the RBB 2074, but we haven't seen it in PDF form. And there's the Parazoology 2 mentioned on the Jackpoint page from Storm Front.

There's a couple little ebooks still in the pipeline.  Remember to keep checking the "login page" of new products (like you have for Storm Front, it always spills the beans a little bit.  :)

And some of those may well become 5th edition eBook products as well.

I really hope that Used Car Lot gets updated and expanded early on in the new edition. (I don't want to wait almost a decade for my Prairie Cat or Blitzen again.)

Ugh. Not me. I don't understand the point of releasing product that boils down to "The same, but 'BETTER'! " when it comes to gear.

The point is A) New shiny!, and B) some GMs are sticklers for not allowing custom material in their games, including material that has been converted from prior editions. Plus, with the new gear limitations on skills, at least on firearms (and possibly on other things), there's going to be new stats, so you can't just copy over the old stuff.

I like new shiny. I don't like new, more powerful, more easily available, more legal and cheaper for a piece of equipment.

Like, the stuff that appeared in the anniversary edition was awesome.  It was different, but not just purely better then older gear.

Players like us, though, are in the deep, deep minority. Shadowrun readers LOVE gear books. It's obscene.

I wonder how much of that is just looking at shinies. Like, Battletech, the TRO products are the best seller, and usually they don't introduce new gear, just new units fielding the same gear. If Shadowrun would do the same, and release a booklet of shadowrunners with a small blurb on what they do and their gear, with a page of art, I know I'd buy it.

What I am wanting is a source book that has things from prior editions that don't make it into the core book. Just because a new edition starts doesn't mean that things that already existed should just cease to exist. If they want to put some new stuff into it too, then cool, but that's not what I'm after.

That opens up a whole set of other problems when you use the same terminology. Star Trek TOS Enterprise traveled at Warp 13, which was only Warp 7 point something in TNG.

Actually, Wildcard, the times the original Enterprise went that fast were because of advanced alien interference. Either people making modifications to the engines that were beyond their comprehension, or alien probes doing the same thing, or getting hauled behind an advanced craft that was doing high warp. So it does not technically break continuity.

http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Warp_factor

Quote
During TOS, the warp factor scale wasn't clearly defined. In his initial draft proposal, Star Trek is..., Gene Roddenberry established the maximum velocity of the starship as ".73 of one light year per hour". This would translate to a top speed of approximately 6,400 c (equivalent to TOS warp 18.57, and approximately TNG warp 9.98).
