Hi,

I'm making a new character, because... my old one was deemed uncompatible with the rest of the team

450BP and Availability 15 for chargen, otherwise standard rules (except for some very weird houserules about counterspelling)

I was thinking something along this line:

I kinda want to put a reflex recorder in there (hence the 0.1 essence that are still open) but I ran out of money.

I really want to go for a gauss rifle asap ingame and want to learn  some skills like Intimidation, automatics, computer, armorer, pilot ground craft, survival and tracking in not yet decided order.

And I tried to get the most out of the karma efficiency thread, so big thanks fot that one already.

I've not yet decided for negative qualities and character of that guy, but I'm thinking of augmentation addicted and maybe compulsive behavior plus an addiction or allergy

What do you think, is hawkeye+ improved rangefinder worth it for pistols/gauss rifle?

Any tips on skills? there is 13BP left which I want to sink mainly into skills
I could drop 2 points of strength and free up 23 BP but since this is the 14/15th point of strength it is BP/karma wise worth it to the max
(it is also a difference in 1 point of RC)

I forgot to buy hardliner gloves and personalized grip on the weapons

but I already had some improvement ideas...
I could drop strength by 1 and drop the augmented muscles for chargen and buy them later ingame, then I have enough money for a reflex recorder and enough quality points (dropping hawk eye) to buy biocompatibility

If I use muscle toner only at rating 3 (making use of the 15 availability) and raise the attribute by 1 I can save another restricted gear quality and get hawk eye back (or maybe something else)

I could buy a muscle augmentation at rating 3 too for +2 melee damage but I kinda want to hit that 14 threshhold to get that extra recoil compensation

then I probably want to establisch some kind of secondary role instead of jsut heavy weapons and push the stealth group to 4

With the amount of ware in your Troll's body, it will be very difficult for him to awaken.
I am not sure how people would deal with this but since you only have 1.2 essence, I would expect you to spend karma to raise your magic to 6 to obtain a meagre 1 in magic. initiation will be required for any point after that. I am also not certain that mainy rather exclusive awakened groups would welcome a cybered individual.
That's only one person's opinion, your GM way have a different view. I would recommend that you spoke to them before keeping the latent awakening.

Latent Awakening do not lose Magic from Essence until they awake. They awake with 1 Magic, but the maximum will have been reduced as normal. This means that to raise your magic you'd pretty soon have to start initiating, but the costs to raise magic will be the same.

On the other hand, if your GM is happy to play along with a specific concept it could be good.

My advice would be to speak with your GM about it and ensure the two of you agree on the general concept of what your character is aiming towards.

She was casting spells better then the mage slingin' guns better then the Sam ,had the best social dice pools,was the most robust char and had the best perception... And had the best com link but that one doesn't count because we had a tm.

So I'm gong to tune way down on the magic part (bet ya I'm going to get adept)
And focus on weapons and defense and trying to get some b&e in there.
I'm essentially still kicking the Sam's ass with this char but won't replace 75% of the team anymore.

The latent awakening is 50% story hook 50% personal I just want it.

I and my gm have planned to talk about the character once I finished my char and concept but the general idea is already known to him.

I've got a sixgun build somewhere here in the forums.

You take 6 arms with 6 smgs get them fully recoil compensated, add a speciality tracer rounds, a tacnet with 4(/5) bonus dice and you have about 10 dice to shoot 8 times per IP, while having boosted physical stats, while having magic 6 to sling spells, while having high charisma because it's your drain stat.

The group is the issue though, no one optimized their armor,
The mage is a vampire the Sam can't even use grenade launchers...

It simply is not a point of view thing - if one player brings a character to the table that is at a radically different level of optimization/munchkinism, the problem is with that one player, full stop.  You don't get to expect everyone else to adjust their gaming to suit you and you alone; you'll have to find a character that you can enjoy but which will not be a problem at your table.

Now, you might at this point be alright on that score - though personally, I'd nix the Suprathyroid Gland, as it saves you nothing to take it at chargen (thus making it a poor choice for Restricted Gear).
