Hey, chummers. This is the thread where we'll discuss the upcoming game. Currently, this is as full as I'd like it, but if we're lacking in a role we can bring in another runner. The current roster of runners are Gustovness, Pyromaster13, Heckle, WhackedMaki, and jolinaxas.

Here's a low-down on the game's deets so far:

The game will take place on infrno.net. Characters use standard rules to be built. 400 bp, max 16 item avail unless with restricted access quality. There's no house rules, but you do get a free fixer contact (Jeff, the Troll fixer, Con 1, Loy 1). Unfortunately, you can't have any other fixer contacts. The game will take place in either Seattle or Calfree (trying to figure which of my missions would be better). The time for session 1 is next week's Saturday at 3:00 PM EST (or 7, whatever you guys want). Send finished characters to my email, which is alexlolwut@gmail.com, and I'll review them. My skype's the1pinballwizard, and I have all the sourcebooks (except Hazard Pay), so I can send you anything you want.

That's it. Any questions you got, post them here.

Do we have a general tone? I've seen the terms Pink Mowhawk and Black Trenchcoat thrown around. Any direction in particular you feel your campaign will go? I realize it's also up to us, of course, but I'd like to know the general feel of the specific SR world we'll be inhabiting.

Well, I've wrestled with reality for 35 years, Doctor, and I'm happy to state I finally won out over it.

I have a Face Mage character already made, done with Chummer. How do I send files from Chummer to you though?

I just sent my .chumm file as an attachment, seemed to work just fine.

Yeah, you just attach the .chum file to the email. I can save it and open it up with Chummer just fine from there.

But, uh, Whacked, Heckle's already got a face mage, and Pyro's guy is a mundane face/street sam/oddball. I don't mind if you want to use him. Hell, you guys could try to make your own wizgang if you want, I'd just thought I'd let you know.

And Heckle, the difference between Pink Mohawk and Black Trenchcoat is. . . eh, put it this way; Black Trenchcoat is Reservoir Dogs and Mission Impossible, Pink Mohawk is Inglorious Basterds and Scarface. The former are all about subtlety, big plans, and acting like fucking professionals, while the latter are about going in with guns blazing like you don't give a fuck who sees.

I mean, whether we do one or the other is pretty much up to the players. I can try to make a run need as much finesse as Ocean's Eleven, but that won't stop you from tearing up the casino with Panthers and rocket launchers. It could get you killed, and you'll probably fail the mission, but you could totally do it.

Pyro's guy is a mundane face/street sam/oddball.

You flatter me.

But besides that, I'm familiar with both Seattle and CalFree, just have to change my final destination for my characters wandering across UCAS.  As for Pink Mohawk and Mirror Shades, the theme of the game is usually discovered after the players have the first one to two games unless everyone agrees to go a specific way.

Okay, I don't have any other characters really on hand ATM. Let me know what's needed when everyone else submits their characters and I'll make someone to fill that spot.

Though I'm an advocate for 'everyone cover a role' honestly all the roles in shadowrun can be covered by 3 players who can build semi-decent characters.  Our current count puts us at 5 players so that's not a problem. I'd say just play what you want to play since all roles benefit from doubling up except hacking thanks to teamwork bonuses, and if someone is missing for a week we'd have a backup to cover the role. I'd say the only role you'd probably not want to build is face since we have both Heckle's Face Mage and I'm a Face/Street Sam/asdfotherstuff but otherwise everything is up for grabs.

If you really can't decide what to play I'm going to go ahead and randomly throw out for 'food for thought': Combat Hacker.

Well, the main question then is how exotic is Walder willing to let me get on character creation. I tend to make more unusual characters (I currently have a toxic mage in a real life one, and in a play-by-post on here I'm running a guy whose goal in life is to become a cyberzombie), so if you're willing to let me do things outside the norm on making characters, I'm sure I could come up with something.

Oh, and the usual level of restriction you can get on an item is 12. Are you doing it as a house rule that it's 16, or was it just a mistype?

Can we get a confirm on the first game's date? I'm under the impression that we'll be starting at 3pm on Saturday, the 15th of Sept, right? Cause that'll totally work for me!  Like I said, I'll get you a character sheet by end of the day Friday.

@ Whacked: I don't even know why you have to ask. There's nothing too weird. Go nuts.

@ qaz: See first paragraph of OP. We're full, but if we ever need an extra role, or someone drops out, I'll contact you.

@ Gusto: Yes, Saturday Sept. 15th at 3 PM EST. I've decided on Seattle finally, because I think I have better mission ideas going on there.

Not sure what anyone else is playing, been messing around in chummer and have a couple of characters, so I'll just fill whatever we're lacking in.

1)Face/Infiltrator adept with all of the body morphing powers
2)Rigging-focused Technomancer
3)Athlete's Way parkour/unarmed adept
4)Heavily wired combat hacker
5)Pistolero Adept

Well, the character I submitted is a Raven/Manipulation Shaman/Face. Got a couple basic combat spells(increase reflexes, stunbolt, lightning) but I'm more geared towards Manipulation type spells.  Decent as a face, but not specialized.

What does everyone else have so far? Let's get a finalized-ish list, eh. I can also post up a char sheet here, if we want to go that route. So that way we can all see what others are thinking?

*edit- Gonna just list all my spells, so you can kind of get an idea of the role I'll play.

Combat-
Lightning Bolt
Manaball
Stunbolt

Health-
Heal
Increase Reflexes

Illusion-
Improved Invisiblity

Manipulation-
Armor
Compel Truth
Influence
Levitate
Mob Mind
Turn to Goo

I'm in the process of designing an AI Hacker/Rigger, but as I haven't dealt much with the matrix in my previous gaming experience, I'm having to go over a lot before I come with final character to be submitted.
