Ok, so I'm the aforementioned "old chummer" just now getting around to posting. I'm in the process of setting up a forum, checking out infrno, and all that jazz. I'm pretty flexible of characters, but at the moment I'm leaning towards a sammy of some kind. I'm wavering between elf and orc for metatype, which has a pretty profound effect on personality and worldview, so it pretty much colors everything else about the character too. There's a fair chance I'll work on both while other people talk about their characters and use the one that seems like it would be the most interesting in the group... Unless other people are doing the same sort of thing, in which case, just say so, and I'll pick one so you can make a decision and we can move forward.

Understood about Skype, I still prefer Infrno but no hard feeling if we use Skype, and I would be in a RL game if that where possible for me.

The character I have the most work into is an elven weapons spec. I won't go to deep into back story as that may not be known till later in game but fairly independent, either taking leadership or being the one to sneak around the back or some such thing, but still very much a team player. Had a run in with a international group of some kind a few years back so they jump at the chance to make her life hell, fortunately they have other things to do so they don't rear they're ugly head very often. Also, my character values reiability and comradely, she might meet you by giving you a lift, or ask to crash at your place, and if you pick on the little guy or betray the team she might shoot you.  She is easy going and friendly at first appearance but once you get to know her a bit better she can be a rather blunt cold and parinoid.

As far as stats go, good with guns and vehicles, using, fixing, building, modifying. Some social skills an enemy and maybe some bio ware for an extra IP if every one else is going that way. Not huge dice pools though, and I still got some points. Generaly emphasize role playing over by dice pools.

That's all for now, looking forward to seeing what you all are thinking, Raven

I have a full Forum up and ready. I was using it as a Data Dump for all my Shadowrun information.... in fact it has a lot of canon (And custom) info on it nicely organized.

About Mouse.

Mouse is a hacker, sort of new to the shadows and trying to show he's got what it takes. His father and mother were runners in Berlin, his father was killed during a run when Crash 2.0 hit. His mother, a decker that was not jacked in at the time went legit and joined up with NeoNet. Mouse having been raised on stories of his father and mother's history struck out on his own after his mother was killed in an extraction gone bad.

As far as skills go, when it's involving the Matrix he's got it covered. Hacking, electronic warfare, hardware, software no problem. When it comes to combat, that's when there might be issues. First of all, he's a pacifist (The 5 point version), he'll light someone up with stick-n-shock, but he's not for wanton violence. He knows first hand how it feels when runners get trigger happy and people are left to pick up the pieces. Don't hand him a heavy weapon, he's likely to hurt himself and the people around him (Incompetent Heavy Weapons). While he DOES have a SIN, there's 'something' in the net looking out for him because things tend to disappear (Erased 24 hours). He's got a few small drones that he can use for physical information gathering but none of them are armed.

Basically he's a talented, geared, but untested runner. He's got a Fixer Contact (Mister E) that he might have gotten connected with the team that way. He's got connections with HackerHouse to help him keep up to date on the latest software as well as dig up information here and there.

Personally I think a mage and an adept would round out the group perfectly.

Still waiting to hear back from bob and lysa

Fuck, I've never used Infrno....

anyways, I am either running a smuggler or Hermetic Mage. I have a tactical extraction specialist, but I feel he would overshadow or be overshadowed by the Sam.

I had never used skype since it first came out until my Mutants & Masterminds group wanted to use it for voice chat.
