Really? Damned, I was saving & waiting for the Asus Transformer Prime to hit the markets. My netbook's getting really slow once I open some pdf's and browser tabs and can't play 720p video even if I shut down everything else

Rafa is certainly in favor of giving some humanis goons a beating, but working for what's almost charity would just create a bad precedent. If every Johnson gets the idea that offering a sad story is just as good as offering a good paycheck, future business would start to really suck. Also he's having thoughts about those Red Circle guys, gangs don't normally operate anywhere close to resembling military-style so he figures there's something else going on, whether Johnson knows about it or not.

Oh, I can browse online and pdf, watch hd and listen to music all right. It's the typing problem.
The idea of typing anything longer than few sentences on a tablet ... well, it's misplaced, it was born on the other end of the spine.
Touchscreen keyboard takes half of your space, so you don't really see much of what you wrote. scrolling is a nightmare, same as precise select, copy, paste. Of course you can connect keyboard (like in the asus trasnformer) and mouse but that will trasnform tablet into weak imitation of netbook. Honestly if you need to write anything larger than few sentences every day and need portability, save yourself trouble and buy new generation netbook, you'll have office, solid keyboard and ability to run fancy thigns like chummer programs, mindjet manager or anythign else that's available on pc.

IF however like me you mostly read/watch/browse, and use qwerty keyboard phone for email (I'm using blackberry curve as phone combined with blackberry playbook for tablet). You'll be good for anything except posting on this forum.  That I do from notebook (I hate the idea of netbooks).

So far from testing I've found that Android tablets are faster than even new-gen netbooks, and yeah, transformer gets rid of the keyboard problem.
Only thing I can think off at the moment that I'll miss is Chummer and copy/pasting things from pdf books to the forum. Two big misses I have to admit, but tablets are just so much cooler than netbooks!

(And if you think tablet/smartphone typing sucks, try posting with the keyboard from the Wii.)

based on my testing, tablet with keyboard is just a limited netbook (especially, that you need to carry it separately, which kinda destroy the feeling you get when you take out tablet in a coffee shop to read email), but that's just my opinion (and I'm extremely happy with my playbook, just understand it's limits)

Sometimes you just have to give back to the community.  OK, I know Rafa isn't that kind of guy, but see it like this.  It can only enhance your street cred that you actually care about your neighbourhood, and you can see it as a field exercise.  A bit like Ares does in Chicago.  And we get to keep their toys, like assault rifles, enough ammo for the next year and more of that.

Anyways, Sammy is going to do it.  Sounds like fun.  But maybe we should ask for a couple of minutes alone so we can discuss things, as we don't have a mesh network set-up we can use to subvocalise over.

The Brannon Boyz are a street gang.  They tend to prey on as much as protect their turf. Several are addicted - cram usually, though there are a few cokeheads and zen artists as well. To pay for it they also push it. It's cut, by the way, and they cut it more before selling.

How they'll feel about you getting rid of anti-metas will depend on past experience dealing with humanis in the past.  They won't shed any tears, but they won't get enthused unless the red circle is or was a threat to their territory -- which I don't think you know offhand. (L2 connection. Not quite 'let's share a beer and talk about old times' level.)

I assume that as hacker you have the equipment to do so, even though it might be a bit slower then normal.

Does it lower some of the ratings of your programs potentially? I would assume is the jammer rating is higher than ECCM then it would have an impact.
