Oh, you were talking about Cube.  I thought you meant Brain Dead, which has no sequels.  I've seen all the others and I don't much care for them.  Cube 2 had an interesting premise but a terrible execution.  Cube Zero was okay, I guess.

Pretty much agree with you, best one is the first and maybe it whould have stayed the only one. The concept is good though.

tbh i dont understand why KE dont have something in the key of robocop to patrol the barrens.

I quite like the combination of shiva arms and two handed swords such as the claymore. particularly when said character is a troll with the beserk quality

Because it doesn't pay.  Most people in the Barrens probably dont pay any taxes, so KE doesnt make money by patrolling their hoods. Containment is so much easier.

Now this goes way back, all the way to the very first run I ever did in 1st Edition beta test. I had the mildly off center Dwarven Street Sammie. I'd spent the money to give him a plain old medium machine gun and a gryro mount. Nothing special, but he refused to part with it. Why is that a favorite?

It wasn't until the Rat Shaman cast an illusion on it to make it look like a three foot candy cane....

"Check all your guns at the door!" says the Troll at the bar where we are meeting Mr. Johnson.

"Forgive my dwarven friend, he thinks he's one of Santa's Elves." says the Rat Shaman.

Ten minutes later a team comes in to try and off our Mr. Johnson.

Eye witness report given to Lone Star, "Then this dwarf started shooting his giant candy cane and all hell broke loose."

No one ever questioned the Dwarf carrying the MG ever again.

A good piece of gear a former chum of mine (who was 15 at the time) could have used, a better door. He was a new character, an Ork Sammie, was "at home sleeping in bed".  OK no problem. Then, the GM announces "two thugs bust your door open, what do you do?" To which said Sammie sez "Who are you?", and nothing else.

His uncle, another player in the game, jokingly yells "SMITH AND WESSON". We all stop, laugh, and like Mills Lane says "I will Allow it!", and proceedes to have the two thugs fill our poor newb sammie full of high speed projectiles.

In my games KE does have something not entirely like Robocop patrolling the barrens, just not officially and for a very broad definition of "patrolling."  They use the barrens as a testing ground for some of their nastier tech including drones.

Pretty much, but to be fair, the encounter didnt leave and perminent damage, our mage healed him up right away. But it was a funny intro to the Sixth World.

I desided I'm changing my answer. My favorite piece o gear is... my Runner party. Nothing I have can cover my back (except armor), but that can't warn me if someone sneaking into my 6. My slap patch won't do me any good if I'm uncon & bleeding to death. No My party is my most valuable piece of equipment.

My favorite piece of gear? My armor. I've seen what happens to runners without it. Always wear armor!

And while your crew can cover your @$$, they can also get you killed. Trusting anyone too much will get you killed.

If you want to rely on something, rely on your own wits and ability. And if you don't have those... a good knife will suffice.

Nice. Yeah, those combat axes are something to watch out for.

To fight something like that I use this:

x2 Melee Hardened Pistols 6p -2AP SA

Wired Reflexes R1

Pistols 6

Clubs 4

Martial arts: Firefight R2 Reduce the ranged combat “attacker in melee combat” modifier by 2.

Two Weapon Style: A character using this maneuver has trained to wield a second
melee weapon in his off hand. In order to use two weapons, each
weapon must have a Reach of 0 or 1.
The character may choose to apply the Full Defense option
using only one of these weapons, attacking with the other weapon
as normal (and without sacrificing an action). The defense or attack
action with the off -hand weapon suffers the standard –2 off -hand
weapon modifier.

Riposte: A character with Riposte who successfully parries or blocks
a melee combat attack may make an immediate attack on his attacker,
even if it is not her Action Phase in the turn. Making a riposte is considered
an interrupt action, however, and uses up the character’s next available action.

Clinch: This maneuver allows the character to step inside an opponent’s reach and get
up close and personal. The character can choose to make a melee attack and if successful,
she engages her opponent in a clinch rather than dealing damage. While clinched, both characters’
Reach bonuses are negated. To break the clinch and move away, a character must succeed at a
Strength + Body Opposed Test, which costs a Complex Action.

And if start to lose I thermal smoke grenade and jam it. Heh.

While this isn't the strongest I think it's a pretty damn cool way to fight.
