Major head cinematics. Thank you guys!

For maximum confusion, what about parking the cars (and the sand!) inside/mostly inside the donut shop?
iiiit's ... SHOWTIME!

I guess my favorite piece of gear has to be the magnetic shielding for cyberlimbs. Really nice for smuggling, say large metal blades in your arms past checkpoints. It shows the arms fine but the blades, or smuggling compartment, or whatever you want to hide, is better hidden.

Like that would not set off some other type of alarm depending on the level of security.  "Sir, this guy has a cyber arm but we are not getting anything off of the scanners?"  "Well I guess we need to take it a part to make sure that he is not trying to get anything past us."

  • just say no to rotary assault cannons and bubba.

more likely reaction would be: ok this bubba has licenses for 20 different restricted or forbidden cyber pieces, and i can only find 5 in his entire body with the current scanner. time to go to the other scanner (cue cyberdoc with chainsaw)
Carpe Noctem (seize the night)
Carpe per Diem (seize the pay), Carpe Dentum (seize the teeth), Carpe Denim (seize the pants)
Carpe Panem (seize the bread/capital)

no, i won't "just get over it."

MDS shielding only works on Magnetic Anomaly Detectors anyhow, which don't so much as "scan" as they have a light and buzzer that turns on when they detect ferrous materials. You really can't use them to see into a cyberlimb, so they're useless to figure out what was installed in the limb or not.

You need a millimeter-wave radar for that, and those aren't affected at all by MDS.

Yeah, millimeter wave scanner screwed up a lot. So what if you upgraded your weapon to the seriously expensive MAD-undetectable ceramic components III upgrade and put it in a -6 conceal hidden compartment? Even the most basic millimeter-wave scanner will pick it up. :(

Recently came across a new favorite. Not a single piece, but a fun combo. Take one LTA drone and give it some ability to use grenades, I don't care how. Load it up with Splash Grenades carrying K10. Fly over Times Square or similar dense crowd, let loose then record the festivities for later amusement.  ;)

Which I think is sort of like arguing that a partial erection should get all the benefits of an erection.

You could put in radio-attenuating mods like wi-fi blocking paint, but that would result in the radar seeing a "blank space" where there should clearly BE something, which will raise it's own suspicions.

Best bet really is to hack-on-the-fly the sensor to give a false readout.

Just Jam it.
It's still a radar and vunerable to ECM or a jammer.

And to my knowledge it hasn't really been clarifed what exactly that thing can "see".  If it just penetrates barrier rating ...blah blah blah  then it wont see the arm, or you for that matter, as you won't be dense enough to consititute a barrier....... The Mili wave will stop when it hits dense metals or ceramics, or lead.
Correct me if I'm wrong here please and I'll continue.

Baby Monitors are horrible for spamming wireless airwaves.

Hated those damned things when I was doing Wireless Networks Tech Support.  Portable Phones on the same frequency were also a pain in the hoop.

Yeah, you go ahead and try broadcasting on freqs that are restricted for military purposes and see what happens.

Well, with digital TV transmissions happening now, there's going to be a lot of more civilian Freqs cleared up.

Back on topic, however.  Gear we love in Shadowrun:  I gotta go with some kind of armoured long coat.  Lined Coat is nice and traditional, but sometimes it doesn't fit in with where you are, so a Mortimer of London Greatcoat is a fine substitute.

We can't have capes, but what's a long coat but a cape with sleeves?  ;D

You can have capes. You just need to be in places like Tir Tairngir. ;)
