More like an interesting thing for a table (or a novel plot handle) but not to be expected in most circumstances.

Besides, say you call in a lawyer.  Now the Star knows your SIN (assuming you didn't use a fake one that got busted due to you being a blockhead), and those guys are not above petty vindictiveness.  In fact, it's why most of them wear the uniform.

Exactly, so why invite more of it?  Don't carry about dozens of taser darts and avoid further potential for annoyance.

I am sure thers a tipping point too how many reloads you need/get away with VS haul the tazer nut in level.
Would think 2 full reloads should be fine.
And the whole point is to not be as serious a real guns would be.

It has never come up in my group, due to them not liking it when I go Gun Nutty.  (Hell, you folks don't like it and there's fellow gun nuts here!).  But I've ruled that low-lethality rounds (Gel and Stick'n'Shock) are grounds to help with cases of "Self Defense" statements, regular ammunition keeps things neutral, and high-lethality rounds (Flechette, Explosive, EX-ex, and so on) rules "Self-Defense" out as an option, and actually is grounds for "Premeditation" due to carrying something designed to be better suited to kill rather than wound.  That's if it ever got to a court case, that is.

Great for a SINner and John Q. Wageslave to think about, not so good for the SINless with Forged Documents.

Most of my character's have a pair of Sock Gloves that they carry at all times.

For impromptu sock puppet performances?  ;D

I have always found the Shock Gloves are a great thing to begin with.  on top of that, the Ares Predator IV even according to the book as a standard gun carried by most shadowrunners.  Katana, Monofilament Whip, Cybereyes, and Wired Reflexes are all pretty much standard gear when you think about it.  with the exception of Technomancers, and those with the Magic skill, those are the most common items bought at Chargen.

I'll have to see if I can dig out that character that one of my players made that had 10 Monofilament Whips in fingertip compartments in SR2 or SR3...

I had someone who played one of those, unfortunately they completely biffed their first combat roll, then completely biffed their soak roll, so they became a greasy stain on the streets within 6 seconds of combat.

i had a brother play SR3 and he explained the exact same thing happening to one of the guys he was playing with. the GM made the guy split his dice pool and caused everyone in the room to die with him. makes me wonder if you are the gm he was playing with

Depends on where you live.

Low/Squatter/street: You probably live in the barrens, so carry whatever you want. You'll need it.

Middle: Concealable handgun/cyberweapons.

High/Luxury: N/A, you aren't going to run down to stuffer shack; you order in. ;)

Browning Ultra-Power. Good price, good punch, laser sight good for those who don't/can't have/can't afford cyber, and good price. Ammo a bit low but if you're using it for "off duty" carry and you need more than ten shots, you're already in way over your head. Also a good compact design.

I also use one for stealth operations: Smartlink replacing the laser sight, sound suppressor/silencer, extended barrel, biometric lock, and skinlink.

My usual CCW pistol , a H&K USP compact .40 cal, with 2 spare mags.  Works in shadow run too.  Would proably be dirt cheap in the 2070's.

Check out Gun Haven. If memory serves, there are several HK "vintage" pistols there.
