So, in my group I play a vindictive mage and the Johnson that hired us had just admitted to sending another runner group to take us out. My answer to this was a manabolt to the face and led to his death. I am wondering if there is a unique backlash I can expect. This also led to several 30 story buildings being destroyed and me recording evidence of the Johnson's hand setting that into motion and him admitting he tried to kill us.

Well the only evidence that could point to us is now a pile of nanite eaten rubble. The Johnson was using us to screw over another Johnson and got busted and well a Force 7 Mana ball took out his guards and a Force 7 Mana blast took him out.

It's going to depend on your GM, what story he was planning to tell with the double cross that you interrupted (or perhaps completed, or perhaps initiated).

I was kidding mostly but unfortunately: there's all ways more evidence.

Well the group was split for the start of the run so only three players signed up with the fixer to do a run against one of the Johnsons. At the end of the first game the two Johnsons came out and put an end to things. They were hired by #2 to do a last job, #1 came in just behind him and wanted them to do the same run but for him. They decide to take both jobs and call on the rest of the team. We get there and start to help, get the job done and as we are finishing up we get attacked by another runner team. We kill them and disarm and "acquire" the explosives they planted and find the #2 had sent them. We go pay him a visit and meet his guards with guns drawn, I wipe them all out and go talk to him. He starts jerking us around, telling us how he sent the other group to kill us and wasn't going to pay and calls in some supernanite types so I kill him, his last mental message to them was to eat everything. In about 1 minute they eat enough to start collapsing a skyscraper and though my use of levitation the party lives. Now there are three buildings heavily damaged, all physical evidence of the acts are gone because of the nanites and all video of us has been altered.

Also depends on what dirt said Johnson had (True or Not) and probably dumped on the Matrix when the lack of your deaths, and the proof of his (By way of time-based password-prevented data bomb) gets dumped onto the Black BBSes.

I'd suggest a Notoriety Hit at the very least.  Even with evidence that you did it in "Self-Defense", it's still bad for business and "Evidence" can be doctored.

For a unique approach, well, Johnsons never work alone, they do have a logistics train behind them.  Also, why did Mr. Johnson want to have you killed?  Might have been good to ask him/her/it that before his head assplode.  Might be a damned good reason why someone higher up the foodchain wants your group, or just one member of your group, dead.  In addition, how did the other team know how to find you exactly, especially if your plan was far away from the Johnson and the hit team knew where you were, is there a mole in your own team?  Questions and Paranoia!

...

Or his brother/sister/father/mother/child/badass grandpa could come out of the woodwork, looking for vengeance.  There's a lot of vindictive people out there, and you just killed blood.

We were hired by both to steal an item and deliver it to the same place. #2 didn't like that the first part of the run was against him or he just wanted to be a d-bag and thought he could wipe us out as a finger to #1.

Sometimes a Johnson needs killing.  If he double crosses you and is stupid enough to meet you again in person then he should end up fish food.

You probably should take some notoriety for this.  Price of doing business.  My motto when setting in the player's chair instead of the GMs chair is never sell out a Johnson once you have accepted a contact, and never forgive one that crosses you.  Stick by both and your will rep out as someone not to be screwed with.

Unused line:  *Dead Monotone*  "I never start fights.  I just end them.  Win or lose, I end them.  And, when I lose, there are no winners.  Just some very, very sad people who think back and wish they had reconsidered before pursuing that line of thought.  Or.  Even.  Being.  Born."

The Johnson got off lucky. The team's Troll Street Sam has a nasty habit of raping anything that isn't an ally.

Scary troll... <.< Hopefully he doesn't get it shot off. All it takes is one lucky shot in shadowrun... xD
Having access to Ares Technology isn't so bad, being in a room that's connected to the 'trix with holographic display throughout the whole room isn't bad either. Food, drinks whenever you want it. Over all not bad, but being unable to leave and with a Female Dragon? No Thanks! ~The Captive Man
