I've gotten the impression that Clockwork himself is from the Baltic region. Not a whole lot of interpersonal joy and hugs around there, which is likely a strong reason why he's an untrusting, paranoid, spaz. And being a hobgoblin, he's wired for the quick, angry response to things. Add all that to someone who seem to enjoy being an ass... and you've got Clockwork.

Apparently the two haven't gotten married yet, or at least no mention of it has crossed my eyes, which means they spared the kid the indignity of being legitimate.  I also think we don't have a sex or a name for the kid yet, although some nicknames have flown around "The Other Board" in a certain thread...
