When the hell did Slamm-o and Netcat get together for a kid? Or are people joking around when I see stuff about them having a kid? Sorry if I should have put this somewhere else, figured it'd be here for in the Secret Histories part.

If you go to the short story Game Set Match (SR4A, p. 212), you can see one of their first "dates".

It's in various parts of the book fiction, FastJack showed their first date together.  She had to wear a dress.

She even had morning sickness on one of her Shadowtalker posts that rocked the JackPoint at the very foundations.  Even FastJack (No, not him, the other FastJack!) was amazed, and warned her to not let it happen.  It was in the Corporate book, IIRC, and had some...  Disturbing implications apparently.  It's one of the few books I don't have.

And it's Slamm-0!, not Slamm-o.  Same as calling FastJack just Jack, only not as big a danger.

Apparently the two haven't gotten married yet, or at least no mention of it has crossed my eyes, which means they spared the kid the indignity of being legitimate.  I also think we don't have a sex or a name for the kid yet, although some nicknames have flown around "The Other Board" in a certain thread...

Game. Set. Match. (SR4A fiction, matrix chapter) shows the lead-up to their first date. The technocritter chapter of Running Wild indicates that Netcat is pregnant (and intimates that Slamm-O! is the dad). Various exchanges in Attitude showed that their relationship was still going, possibly strengthening. Corporate Guide includes Netcat's bit of techno morning sickness. And sometime around Spy Games(?) the kid was born. As others have said, there aren't any details about the kid just yet.

Edit: Sorry. It wasn't Spy Games, it was Attitude.

Strengthening?  It's like they're already married the way they fight.

...

Actually, that would be no change at all.  :P

Huh. I guess I missed it in the Anniversary and Corp guide. I'll have to read Spy Games then. I'm trying to figure out how they got together in the first place, given that they seem to hate each other. Granted...it's more plausible then, say, Netcat and Clockwork, given that it's a massive hatred there, while the bickering with Slamm-0! looks more playful then anything.

Hm. Maybe it is possible. Would definitely be interesting.

From the SR4A short story read, it was pretty obvious they were taunting each other in the flirting way instead of the I'll-bash-your-brains-in-if-I-ever-find-you* way.
I missed the rest too. Too much too read, so little time :(

(*Which is only flirting if you're a troll.)

Sure Slamm-O! reacted badly back in Emergence when Netcat came out as a techno, but I've never seen hate there.

Vice's "most wanted" has the prelude of what NetCat was talking about in Anniversary's Game, Set, match, when she Hacked him.

Other than accusing her of dating the toaster.

I'm amazed that he had such little security on his own CHN, myself.

Reacted badly.. Right. Other then jokingly lamenting her possibly dating the toaster, but recovering and saying he'd try to steal her away anyways. The entire book makes me what to punch Clockwork something hard. Several times. Puck is much higher on the respect list then he is. Yeah, Puck did bad things, and may not have tried to apologize, but he clearly knows it wouldn't help

Edit: When was the first time she mentioned it? The (very creepy and worrying) "techno morning sickness' no one seemed fazed. Was there an earlier version of it?

Yeah, and the JackPoint members agree (as FastJack notes, Clockwork's rep score bottoms out when he actually... well, you know). As for Puck, regardless of what he does, he gets pity points for what happens on p. 106 of the Corp Guide...
