Iron WInd Metals is the current incarnation of Ral Partha, and they still produce and carry many of the old Shadowrun Miniatures.

In addition to Iron Wind Metals I would suggest...

http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/

They have a growing selection of vehicles that are well suited to SR and if you are interested in building some terrain their sci-fi G.O.T. scenery can really add a lot to any terrain piece!

These all sell in packs rather than singles, but a lot of them said "Shadowrun" to me.  Especially the mohawks.  Biggest downside is, they're all human.  A little bit of converting for you elf and ork players, but I guess dwarves and trolls are out of luck.

From playing warhammer 40k I can tell you painting is half the fun of playing any game with minis. But I also think shadowrun shouldn't have minis as well as alot of other games. The only thing they do for me is act as a crutch for imagination and money suckers.

lol kernal, i completely see your side of it, but i think they'll be fun to paint up from imagination. i think throwing the brightest colours i can find on mini's will be much fun.

i'm not a very good artist, so they'll probably look like crap on a crapstick, ill still post the finish products to kill everyone's imagination, lol.

It doesn't matter if they look good cuz YOU made it YOURSELF:) My necrons were a coat of black spraypaint then some gunmetal coloring then blue gloss they're bad ass. Painting is calming and you don't have to be good as long as you're careful and patient.

It really comes down to four basic elements...

Lighting, if you see it you can paint it.
Primer should be applied only as a light dusting over the mini.
Thin your acrylics with water to the consistency of skim milk. (Build up your colors in thin layers)
Have fun!

i use the citadel paints, i'm not very good at all the shadowing and layering and blending etc etc. i'm a base painting type of guy, but like the kernal says, it's calming and rewarding at the end when you've completing the project.

the worst thing you can do is look at someone else's paint jobs, you'll just end up over-critiqueing your paint jobs instead of being proud of it... happened many of times on my warhammer stuff, lol.
