So I know that Knight Errant has taken over the law enforcement contract for Seattle and effectively smacked Lonestar down to prison guards. I also know that the new governor of Seattle is the one that signed them in.

I don't have the Seattle book though, and I'm wondering, was the Election in 2070 (and thus re-election in 2074) or is was it in 2072 (and thus re-election in 2076).

On another note, does it say how long Knight Errant holds the security contract for? I'm making some plans for a campaign I'm running, but want to keep it close to the books since the other players have been playing 4th much longer than I have.

Just looked it up, and it was Election 2070.  So unless Kenny-boy gets funky, it should be Election '74.  Since his original platform got severely dented by the tempo crisis - goodbye Lone Star; hello Knight Errant - he's likely to be searching for a new hot issue.

Like, say, the fate of the Ork Underground - already been getting attention.

Thanks, that's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure.

I've been doing a set of runs dealing with the underground issues (I don't run the actual missions adventures for my group (so they can actually play missions) but I keep the major plot points the same (i.e. underground wanting to become a district). That said, I've decided that moving into 2073 is going to be heavy into the beginning of the political slandering scene.

If KE were smart, they would have negotiated that the contract dates cross election years. It would suck to work all those years smearing working to take the contract from Lone Star only to have it go poof on the fickle winds of political change.

I would hazard at least a six year contract, maybe ten.

Which is why none of the elected officials are likely to sign a contract like that.  Always have an escape plan.

Oh, Im sure there is some kind of "failure to perform duties" blah blah blah in said contract. Just ask the 'Star.
