Everyone has a list of handles that they've used in Shadowrun. Come on runners, let's hear some of your best handles.
In my current game my handle is Michi.
Here are a bunch I've used since 3rd:
Handbook
FacilityOfLove
LooseUser
Tender
Astralnaut

I used Wraith at one time, then a couple months ago decided that Operator would be a better fit for the character.

So far, I've got Puppy, who was given the handle because he looked like one at his first Shadowrun at 14-years old.  (And he is a human, folks.  That's not Ork years!).

And "The Suit", as he was a former Wageslave.  He's also called "The Accountant From Hell", and is hella good at money laundering, as his previous job was forensic accounting.

My favorite was Abrams, the troll street sam. My first character was Storm Rider, a shaman.

We never went for handles too much, we typically had more mundane nicknames or used a first name that may or may not have been a 'real' name.

Using something close to your real name seems dangerous in the shadows... especially for a SINner.

Whenever a player picked a dull, normal sounding name, either his real one or another, the rest of the team picked a nickname for him. That's how our Adept ended up being called Humperdink.

It's dangerous not to pick a street name.  Not because not having one is all that big a deal, but because -- like a real-life nickname -- it just means someone else is probably going to pick one for you.

My own characters have been fairly thematic. Ember, Pyria, Fade, etc.

It's dangerous not to pick a street name.  Not because not having one is all that big a deal, but because -- like a real-life nickname -- it just means someone else is probably going to pick one for you.

This one became true for a friend when we were playing Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0. a while back. He was told by the GM that anyone who hadn't selected a street name at chargen would get one picked for them in the course of the campaign. He ignored this sage advice.

Later, he was chasing an NPC down alleys in a high speed motorcycle manner (NPC was in a souped up RV, think the truck from Stripes) when the back of the RV swung down in a ramp and the NPC exits rearward on his own motorcycle. NPC ends up parallel to our intrepid character, then shoots out his front tire. Intrepid PC ends up skidding down the broken street, filled with Dog-knows-what, for nearly four blocks. Doesn't die. Staggers back to the bar where the chase began. Other PCs (myself, Broken Arrow and our sammie, Angel) look at him, Angels player and I look at each other, and almost in unison say "You look like roadkill." Which, of course, became his handle.

But my favorite street name right now is my Orc Mage's name ...Vader ...because he believes in the force!!  (can you say lvl 6 in starwars history)

Eh, finding a SINless 'Ray' or 'Jake' is probably going to be a long and fruitless task.  Obviously someone with a SIN using their real name is putting themselves in a hole.
