No idea. Unless it hurt a lot I recommend ignoring it. :D

You want someone should, uh ... misplace their kneecaps? 8)

But seriously, I think James has the short of it. Maybe someone didn't like the cut of your suit.

Not worth worryin' over, in my opinion.  Since there's no way to tell who it was or what post they decided to take a disliking to, it's not really worth being overly concerned with.

Someone didn't like what you had to say.

Or didn't like your face.

Or wanted to be a [Censored].

They knew you'd post about it and use bad grammar? Dunno.

Appreciate the responses.

Just wanted to make sure I hadn't offended anyone or broken any rules or anything.  Haven't said anything negative here that I knew of, and thought it couldn't hurt to check.  The explanation that it probably didn't mean anything makes sense, because on the internet I imagine if someone had been hurt they could probably manage to say so (it is the internet after all, even if they would be afraid of me IRL, here I hope they know I really won't bite lol).  ;D

Edit: also what's Rat to the Face?

If so (in any serious fashion), someone would likely have hit the "report to moderator" instead of the "smite."  Unless you've gotten any PMs from the grown ups, I'd say you're just fine.

'Smite' is actually the equivalent of 'I strongly disagree', or 'I really don't like this post' with the occasional 'I'm just being a young Richard'. So, No worries. Look at FastJack. People threw that kind of crap on him because he uses the name.

I got smote(smitten? smitted?) after having been off the boards for a week. Did someone miss me? Did someone trace through old posts and decide that a week after I posted something was the time to put me in my place?
Whomever it was, I'd gladly apologize for whatever I said that offended.
But, like others have said there is nothing one can do.

Despite the anonymous nature of smiting, I like the rep score system. It keeps folks polite.

No, it really does not. And how would it anyway?

Kids today.   >:(

The book, 1984 by George Orwell.  A must read in order to nail down a dystopian future.

In the book, there's a cage that goes onto a person's head, where a hungry rat is put into, and slowly moves towards the face.  And, as the drunk person told us, it's the Ministry of Love that does things like this, and far, far worse.

"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face--for ever." - 1984
