Fractal didn't like the way his new comrades where already sorting out the possible spoils of their effort, neither the precipitation of their questioning and planing at Johnson's face. That's not the way this should be done. The guy seems all self-important, and not given him his "so deserved attention" was not the way to show a good face to him. At least they were showing how specialized at the thing in question they were.
With a calculated voice, the face started:
"Mr. Johnson, I'm glad to see that you are also a civilized man. I'm also not into physical violence against fellow metahuman beings if not necessary, and I'm sure my colleagues feel the same way, even though they may seems a little too nervous at the time. Rest assured that's just professionalism; they want to know the specific terms of our agreement so we can follow they in a way that will be satisfactory to your needs. "
Imperceptible, the elf sniffs the air, feeling the tension and contentment of his new runner mates. This reassures him a little, as a little confidence is a good sign.
"But I'm sure you understand that the job in question is delicate: it involves a very specific goal and some limitations in the possibilities of action, and the timeframe is limited. Even though there's a bonus in what we may serve ourselves at the factory, we are talking about a kind of bonus that is not certain and may involve some extra work for it to became available. I'd like to discuss the payment matter a little more."
