Does she actually have the negative quality?  May ha e only ever been fluff, or. Bought off (the whole 'being vetted).

/dev/grrl was brought in to the JackPoint directly by FastJack himself.  He vetted her as an actual Shadowrunner before doing so, and saw she had chops as a Decker.  In addition, she brought in a "raised by the Corp" worldview that was sorely lacking in the group.  Since then, she has proven herself by capturing Kane (sorta) and other such tasks.  Mostly, she is considered the little sister of the group, which is why the more personable members of JackPoint like her, while the more mercenary members of the group (*Cough*Clockwork and Company*Cough*) see her as just another pawn in their game against the world for the score of longest lived with the most nuyen and toys.

is /dev/grrl old enough to have bought off the quality? I seem to recall mention of her sneaking out of the house to do a run, I think she still lives with her (corp) parents.

She was a teenager in 4E. Maybe early 20's now. Time enough for 30-40 karma.
I d/n know you could buy off those SiNner qualities, though.

It is reasonable for even the most personable shadowrunner to suspect her of being a spy. I sure would.

Buying off a quality isn't just about earning the karma. You have to have a reason for the quality to go away. If you have no intention of trying to remove yourself from the household, and don't work to erase your record from the SIN database, it isn't going away.

Since her SIN (and obviously those of her parents) was issued by NEONet, and we know what is happening to that particular Megacorp, I think its fair to say there's sufficient reason for the SIN to have been bought off recently.
