Pondering a Sapient Critter spellcaster or adept, and noticed that some have Adept powers naturally, such as a Centaur's Magic Sense and Enhanced Senses. Do those use up part of their available Magic rating as per an Adept or Mystic Adept, or are these considered separately from such? The Magic section in Creating a Sapient Critter Character part of Runner's Companion looks like the second, but I just wish to clarify.

Thanks!

I'd house-rule that they are separate, akin to a Troll's Natural Armor and Thermographic.

Separately, all Critter Powers are Species Abilities. Magic 1 does get the Critter every Power, if a the Magic Attribute drops under 1, the Critter will count as mundane (non-magical) and only natural mundane powers survive that, all other magical powers are lost.

But there is another interesting fact, if a Sapient Critter get the Magician or Mystic Adept Quality, and bound an Power Focus, it will work for all Tests with Magic involved (including its Critter Powers).
