Okay! so..I made a slight adjustment to stats again, then I got rid of muscle enhancement. There's no reason for her to have that, what would make more sense would be to have Orthoskin for protection since her Mentor would have thought of that after her attack. I also bought the sensor arrays and back ups I meant to so good to go on that now! Plus I used more of the extra cash getting rid of muscle enhancements gave me to boost the SIN and License level. I was staying under 6 with the level 2 but if it's okay to go over that I'm game! ^^ anyway I'm good now and ready to go!

Not sure what you mean by "staying under 6", but each SIN and license (they are separate items for all intents and purposes) is only limited by Availability. So, you can buy up to Rating 4 SINs and licenses at character generation.

Also, welcome aboard! :)

Oh, in character creation I thought it said that you could only get things with an availability of 6 or less when buying equipment. Maybe I misread that? Either way I have them now anyway ^^ I also fixed up my specialization for hacking! I realized I had never put it in...

Ah, I see. No, that reference is for Device Rating; Availability up to 12, Device Rating up to 6. Good to go! :)

Pixelated, I'm in the same game as Herr and CraterShip. Welcome aboard.

It looks like you have some leftover nuyen. If I may cheat a bit and point out a couple things that we could use as a team:
- a good medkit (I believe we currently have one R3 medkit, so an R6 would be grand)
- a minidrone, like a Horizon Flying Eye or an MCT Fly-Spy (no need for extra skills, we'll rely on its Pilot)

I might suggest diversifying your ammo a bit so it's not 1,000 rounds of regular. Maybe 100-200 rounds of a few different types? (My character is in a similar situation as yours: she shouldn't be shooting. I plan on using suppressive fire if I ever need to shoot. I might want to mooch ammo off you.)

You have a gun with a smartlink but no gear that will let you benefit from the smartlink. If you put the smartlink in your eyes, you'll get a +2 benefit instead of +1 if it is in contacts or glasses. Smartlinks are Capacity 3, so if you want it you'll have to upgrade your eyes to R3 (an extra ¥4000) or maybe boot some of the vision mods out into contacts, goggles, or glasses. If you can't dig up the nuyen, consider switching to a gun with a laser sight, which is what I did.

I saw a few extra karma floating around. You also have some room for more negative qualities if you want them. You could pick up Bad Luck, which gives you a nice wad of karma without the risk of triggering too frequently since your Edge score is 1. With said karma, there are some good rating 1 skills that could leverage your strong attributes:
- Etiquette (or any Influence skill) or Con
- First Aid

I know you're not big into min-maxing, which is great, but I'll point something out and see what you think. If you flip Attributes and Resources, I think you could find 4 attribute points that wouldn't cost you much in terms of character or effectiveness but would give you a lot of extra nuyen to work with. Resources A would tie into her rich family background and her patron/benefactor/mentor. If you drop a point from Body, Agility, Strength, and Charisma, you would have an extra ¥175k. You could easily buy back the dropped points in Strength and Agility with Muscle Replacement, which you originally had anyway. That's only ¥25k, leaving ¥150k more. Body 3 might more faithfully represent her decker physique and could help explain the importance of Orthoskin. Charisma 3 could represent her ego and entitlement streak (now somewhat reduced). That's enough to upgrade to a Novatech Navigator or a Renraku Tsurugi (perhaps her father worked for Novatech?) with nuyen left over to spare.

Just some thoughts. It's not a highly optimized game so take it or leave it as you will.

Those are some good points! I may sneak first aid in there since your right it IS kind of important. I did have Con on the original char which I've edited like 50 times now :P Though...as nice as drones are I can't think of a logical reason why she would have one, unless it had to do with herself. I could maybe get a Skillsoft for Flying and a small spy drone for an eye in the sky thing. She wouldn't pilot it if another could but....for me to logically have it I'd want to at least show that she uses it somewhere, a skilljack might be good to :)

I hadn't noticed that smartlink deal, way way back our old GM used to allow datajacks to link to external Smartlinks. That might be an old assumption of mine coming out ^^ so I think I can do that. I do like your suggestions too. Putting muscle replacement back in would also tie into how badly beaten she had been. So that might be a thing to go back to. While I wait to officially enter the game I'll take a peek ^^ oh! hmm maybe weak immune sys might be a good negative to take too...could be a result of the mods? :) hmmm ahhh this isn't helping my indecisiveness haha!

Okay definately my last edit!! Mostly Tecumseh spoke to something I had first done when I made the char with priorities and such but wasn't sure if it was a good idea...now feeling more comfortable with SR again I went back to it and dipped further into augments. So...Resources became first to represent the rich kid thing....and I went back to the muscle replacing because one it fits with background and two people who are definitely more knowledgeable than me have both said it was a good idea :) I also gave her a skill jack and some pilot skill for some drones...there's a few reasons for this. It's inspired by my Shadowrun returns Decker and two once I realized and read you coul Jump into Drones via the Matrix to see through them I thought Pixel would definately do that....being caught unawares in Meatspace once was enough for her. She's a bit paranoid about seeing everything all the time now. I know I may never need to use the Skillsoft for piloting but...I wanted to have it to show that she does pilot them sometimes to specific locations that the dog brain won't do.

Her Essence is now under 3 so I put in weak Immune system, she's not the outdoors rugged type and despite her attitude is fragile in certain ways. So she gets sick alot, I like that for some reason. I also upgraded her deck to a Renraku to match her Comm and I liked Tecumseh's idea that her father may have been part of the corp so now he was/is :) Which has no effect on her OOC since IC he considers her dead and she's cool with that.

With the new blob of Karma the immune sys gave me I brought back her Con (spoiled kids lie afterall) and I also put up a skill for First aid. Again I tied that into her nearly dying and she figured as boring as leaning how to put your arm in a sling might be she should be able to patch herself up if it ever comes to that. I also reworked her ammo stores a little so there's a little diversity there.

All in all she's not a combat char and very much a Data thief which is what I am going for :) okay! done :P thanks for all the imput! I think I'll enjoy this char much more now.

Looks good, go ahead and post her in the OOC thread, and I'll get her introduced into the game shortly. It will probably be the next major post, but if not, then the one after.

Don't wish to be a bother, since it sounds like you are nearly done, but I believe you need a Control Rig if you want to be jumping into your drones.

When I suggested a drone, I was just thinking that you would issue commands to the drone and let the drone's Pilot program take over from there. You can add autosofts (Clearsight, Maneuvering, Stealth) if you want a superdrone to watch over your meatspace while you're off tripping the light fantastic in cyberspace. I think it's very much in line with what you are describing, but instead of flying them yourself you'll just be giving instructions then sitting back and watching the camera feeds roll in. If that works for you, that would free up some nuyen spent on skillwires, the skilljack, and the skillsoft.

P.S. If you get the knowledge skill Fashion it will BLOW THE GM'S MIND!

I was curious about how the drone thing will work actually. In the sourcebook it says that drones are connected to the matrix and so can be jumped into by Deckers and given commands. Like hacking them. Though if it's my own personal drone I should be able to jump into them at will in the Matrix and tell them what to do right? thats how it sounded to me anyway.....or is that not how it would go? I presumed riggers were necessary for much more complex things where drones are concerned, combat etc but say if I jumped a drone in the Matrix I could access it and say "you...fly there..." or some such?

To jump in you do need a Control Rig, unfortunately. It's listed in the Rigger chapter, not the Matrix chapter. I'd agree with Tecumseh; drop the skill wires and invest in some autosofts, just make sure to keep them hidden cause they are fragile AF.

Drones have been democratized since 2nd Edition. Now, non-riggers may have drones and boss them around, but are dependent on the drones' autosofts and attributes to actually execute the given commands. Jumping into a drone is for riggers who are saying, "I can drive/fly this thing better than the default programming!" That's true for riggers but, in this case, a rating 1 skillsoft might actually be a downgrade from what the drone can do on its own.

Skillwires and skilljacks are expensive. Hobbes wasn't wrong when he was saying that they are "go big or go home". In this case, you've spent ¥40,000 on a rating 1 skill. That's 20 karma of nuyen on a skill that costs 2 karma.

Again, I'm not trying to force you into optimization that you don't like, but you could turn the ¥40k into another point of muscle replacement or another point of cerebral booster (yay!) and enjoy all the downstream benefits of those, or go buy anything else that looked like fun that didn't make the original cut.

Do you have an Agent? You should get an Agent. I'll let Herr echo that sentiment. Herr, back me up here.
