Ok, so reading through War! and thinking evil thoughts about Aztechnology, (and yes, I am sure SOMEONE has thought of this already).  With the increased ability to produce magical stuff, would it not be posible to produce a cybrog drone/vehicle vessel?  I mean, they talk about car vessels, I don't think its a big jump from that to a drone or bio-drone or anthro-form drone vessel.

Yes, I here the nah sayers, a drone or cyborg is too complex to be a vessel.  Street Magic, on vessel preparation page 86-87 seems to support the possibility.  With Aztech's large enchanting pool and assembly line style to producing magical goods, I would think that they, of all the corps could pull this off.

What are everyone's thoughts?  Has anyone used this idea in a game?

And what exactly do you wish for?
The real magical power within the Cyberworld is Cybermancy or the new Paracritter Bio-Drones (see W!), I don't see any real use in Cyborg Vessels, they are to expensive and obvious attention-grabbing.

Btw: Cybermancy is a way of Possession, and it is better...

Oh, IDK, an army of spirit possessed cyborgs sounds pretty scarey to me.  My main line of thought is as a gamemaster.  My main villian is a free spirit wraith.  Why possess a flimsey metahuman when you can possess a cyborg?

To a free spirit, a cyborg may not register as alive enough to be possessed.

But, it's your game . . .

The main problem for the spirit is that it has no control over any internal system, because it can't use any Matrix or DNI-System. So your scary army isn't scary at all or it isn't scarier as an army of Plasteel Homunculus.
On the other hand an Cyberzombie can use his Cybernetics and the Matrix and he is better than metahuman alone...

Maybe I don't understand your idea right, if you wish for a teamwork a Cyborg-Jarhead in CCU that commands his drone body, which is enchanted/possessed by a spirit to make it stronger and tougher to destroy, than it might be working but the spirit has to be totally in the background.
But... there is a new catch since "War!" we have major magical stuff in the field and a possessed drone body is an easy target because its affinity toward magic. Usually Milspec gear is "now" specially modified to be harder to enchant, so that the enemy couldn't do it.

Another really f**ked up idea with spirits is based on realistic form, based on that power the spirit could be anything you want from a heavy laser canon to an A-Bomb... you see where it goes?
Sure you need energy for the Laser to work, but oh see there is a new spell for it in "War!".

And only to think about it, have you ever thought about an AI clustering or slaving a drone army to her home node? And a TM Guild that has compilied and registered a couple of huge Machine Sprites, that assists the drones or vehicle in battle. Or a magician or free spirit who casts a Analyze Device spell on a rigger or soldier? And now combine all of them together... that would be scary and imagining that as a tank or large battle drone, or even a paracritter bio-drone instead of a cyborg drone.

Maybe a little misplaced but:
I had an idea about a free spirit that is an Avatar (see DG) for a Platoon, and uses its spirit pact powers toward the health of the Platoon. First of all Friendship Pact, and the second is Life Pact with all of its friends... so it will become more powerful over the time, and the man will survive nearly anything.

This idea is for NPC, because in PC rules there would be some little problems to solve... like has the PC pay his Spirit Pact again if the free spirit improves its force rating or where are the limits for free spirits Attributes, like Edge a.s.o.

hmmm, interesting.  Perhaps I am looking at this from the wrong way.

I started out with a rough idea for a "evil empire" idea for a War! game, but the AI path holds promise....I had already thought of the evil rigger who hot simmed into anthro drones (talk about a reoccuring villian!).  I have never liked Aztechnology, they make good bad guys.  I thought a more magically plot would work better, given Aztechs background.

I really want that "oh, crap" idea.  Still, interesting ideas.....

Aztech or Aztlan is not really into technomancers, that would be better with the PCC...
But the Azies do like blood spirits and are masters of cybermancy... how about an Cybermancy with a spirit pact with a free blood spirit... wait mmmh we had that! ;D

For real: There is not much more "oh crap" like looking at a couple of heavy cybered Cyberzombies heading into your direction... a specially if the mage of the team watch that scene in astral space!

I like your idea about the plasteel homunculus.  My re-occuring free spirit wraith villian started out possessing a human, then a sword...guess I am just looking for a "wow" idea.

What kind of spirit is that or in other words which powers do you give him so far?
I have a special One... maybe it is something you could use.

Quote
THE HULK
The "Hulk" in my version is a parasitic free "Abomination" spirit of a possession tradition, he has many additional powers and some unique Spirit Pacts, for example the Angry Pact (a modified form of the Dream Pact, that has instead of sleeping, "anger" as trigger), Life Pact and Magic Pact. The Hulk has although many other Powers, including Force & Karma Drain, Regeneration and a couple of metamagic powers, the entire extent of his power is unknown, he is classified as a magical threat and has any attempt to capture or ban him successfully resisted, so far.
His Vessels have a distinctive style temporary mutations: Green skin and Gigantism.

The wraith is a shadow spirit, street magic page 147-148.  I used the rules from Running Wild too.  It has Possession and Realistic Form and as free spirit it has Magician and Banishing Resistance.  Mainly it goes around uses Compulsion to incite Homicidal rage in my NPC at just the wrong time for the players.

Than you should include some NPC that your players like or maybe love, over time, and if they thing everything is fine and good you kill that beloved one, in front of the eyes of her/his Lover (PC). You can be sure they will try to revenge her/him. Another victim could be family or old friends... maybe innocent children... (depends on your tabu zone in your game).
If you don't want to kill someone, than ruin his/her life, like get him/her possessed and buy stuff or lose money they don't have, maybe get a loan by some really ugly guys...
Or other things the possessed can't really negate, like cheating on his partner or have sex with an ugly troll in a public place (make sure it is on tape or in the Matrix) a.s.o.
There are so many things to make a PC pay for...
