Adept Power: Missile Mastery + Improvised Weapons

Two questions regarding the Adept Power Missile Mastery

First, while it grants the adept the ability to throw a wide variety of objects with deadly effect, it does not specify what sort of ranges to use for said objects.  initial impulse is to use the Throwing Knife Ranges (aka non-aerodynamic), but even then, that feels a little long (at least at extreme range).

and then, there is the matter of the improvised throwing weapons from Arsenal.  as written there is a suggested penalty to the Throwing Weapons dice pool for those improvised weapons - but my gut feeling is that the power of Missile Mastery should override that and allow for using the whole base throwing weapons dice pool.

I am on the fence though if Missile Mastery should increase the DV of the published improvised throwing weapons by +1 or not.

I had a player who did this.  Pretty effective, especially when combined with Power Throw.

Sample ranges for some improvised throwing weapons can be found on Arsenal p20.  Basically take whatever object you intend to throw and pick something on that list that would have about the same weight/aerodynamics/clumsiness, etc.  Something similar.

For my player I only added a negative modifier for an improvised weapon if it was an especially difficult object to throw.

Power says all thrown weapons except explosives get +1.  I'd say that means you get to add the 1 DV.
