The barman narrowed his eyes suspiciously:
"A Hurlg I can get you, but about who met whom around here, you'd better ask Tony or whoever.
Anyway, it's not like we've got elves around here. This isn't Ancients territory - and we damn well will stay that way."

With that, Slobber was served a heavy mug of the nutmeg flavored strong beer and the barman went to polish a glass at the other end of the bar.
Slobbertooth became aware of someone nearing his position from behind. A quick look into the mirror behind the bar showed him a rat faced man siddling close to him.
In a low voice barely carrying above the din of the bar the man spoke to him: "You are looking for that one-eyed freak, ain't ya?
I might have something for ya - but it's gonna cost ya."

Josiah rolled his eyes at the bartender's comment that he 'ask Tony.' "Yeah, I don't think Tony will have much to say about him."

He didn't spin to face the rat-faced man when he approached him, but he did answer the question. "I sure am, chummer. What is this something that you're offering, and what's your asking price." He then turned around and held up his recently ordered glass of Hurlg, as he had no intention of drinking it, "I don't suspect a glass of the strong, real, liquor would be enough to pry the information."

"Well, it would be a start. See, you help me out with 300NY and I can tell you with what car the one-eyed guy came here. What ya say, wouldn't that be worth your time and money?"
Only now did Slobbertooth notice the slight tremor in the man's hand - indicating either an illness or some serious drug abuse.

Slobbertooth handed the man a drink, though he wasn't sure he would be able to hold. It was nice to get another reminder of why he stayed away from that stuff, and how lucky he was to have made it out of the barrens.

Slobbertooth held up a credstick. "I'll give you 200¥ for the answer, and another 100¥ if the information is useful."

"Get ready to do some deep matrix diving, bnc"

"Oh, you can bet on that. You see, I was a mechanic not so long ago before... well never mind. Point is, the elf came here with a seriously modded SUV - expensive Mercedes with additional concealed armor and a electro-mimetic surface. That shit is serious business, can make your car practically invisible if you know what you do. I'm sure it included a spoof chip and a changing licence plate. More important before he left, I saw him retrieving a bunch of insect like drones. Noizquitos they are called. Nasty combat stuff. Beside that I saw a landing rig for a blimp drone. You know one of those stealth things the government uses to secure the borders with a high caliber rifle on it.
As soon as I saw that, I knew Mike and Tony would get into trouble - not least because it was a fucking elf.

Oh, I just remember another thing. There was a chick inside the car - an elf lady. But she was totally spaced out, probably in VR, but not a rigger since she sat on the right front seat and one-eye drove away.

Eh? Ain't that worth your bucks?"

"Well, all that's information is bad for Mike and Tony, but it's goods news for you." Slobbertooth loaded the credstick up with 400¥ and tossed it tot he mechanic. "A bonus for letting me know about the lady friend of his, it should help cover the drink, too."

With that Josiah hustled off the stool and back out to the team's Rover. "Did you get all that, bnc? See if you can find anything."

Slobbertooth hopped into the back of the van, and looked at their newest companion. "Well, Mike, that was certainly very helpful information you gave us. Willingly, quickly, and without even a single broken finger to show for yourself." Slobbertooth heartily patted him on the shoulder. "Good job"

Then he frowned. "So what are you going to do when ol eye-patch comes to ask you about us?"

Mike opened his mouth to speak, then thought again: "I'd probably tell him everything. Sorry, I'm really not good with that whole getting kidnapped and threatened by metas stuff. But I tell you, I don't want to meet him again. I fucked up the mission and Tony's dead. I'll get my stuff and leave the city. I swear, you'll never hear from me again. Shit, I'll go to LA and start over.
Please."

Slobbertooth sighed, and thought about the situation. Then he thought some more. His code held him to not harm innocents, and this man certainly wasn't one, but he personally didn't like taking life in general. How dangerous could the information be if they were able to kill the elves first? We all deserved second chances.

Slobbertooth went back into the bar and got another glass of hurlg 'for the road.' He sat down in the van and spoke to the mercenary.

"You had a chance to start over. You wasted that chance to take revenge on the police officer who put you in jail. What's to keep you from dusting us after you stop getting scared and get angry? You were gumby to admit that you would tell the elf everything, when he finds you. And he will find you. "

"You're just a ronin. A disposable asset like the rest of us. No one will come looking for your killers. There no reason for us to spare you."

Slobber held up the glass of hurlg to Mike. "So enjoy your last drink in Seattle."

[spoiler]I'm doing this with the expectation that he'll pass out, after experiencing the expected stomach cramps most humans face when drinking the brew.[/spoiler]

"Roger, sempai, got everything recorded. I'll try what I can do to find a list of all one-eyed elven bastards who use Noizquitos and modded SUVs"

Yeah. I'll just hack the evil bastards register and filter it for Noizies...

After bnc has allowed herself enough sarcasm to feel Austrian again, she starts to do the actual work.
bnc starts with people known to be close to Thorin. She checks his kids and other close relatives, rumors about confidants or known mercenaries. She digs shadowrunner datahavens for good riggers and class-A deckers. She searches databases of groups known to favor norse mythology. She searches newspapers for rumors about illegal use of Noizquitos or a nigh invisible SUV. In short: She digs, and digs deeply, and digs everywhere a 19 year old genius can think of.

[spoiler]I assume this is gonna take several hours, so I guess that most of the work has to be done from home. And she's gonna make sure that there's a hell of a lot of soykaf in the flat.

Mike became white as a sheet at those words: "Please, I'm sorry. It was stupid to do that. Please don't kill me... Fuck is that Hurlg?" He sighed. "Oh well, there are worse ways to go I guess."
Showing a lot more bravery towards intoxicating substances that could kill him than towards trolls, Mike took the beer and drank it down, followed by a long belch.
"Hm, that was actually quite good... ohhh"
And with that the cramps began.

As the team headed back home Slobbertooth removed the mercenaries remaining belongings, until all that was left were the clothes on his back and a note pinned to his chest. When they passed through one of the rougher areas of Seattle, Slobbertooth pushed the unconcious mercenary out of the back of the van. He'd wake up confused, and probably greatly harmed, but not dead.

The note on his chest read, "Remember, we had no reason to spare you."

Afterwards the team returned to their home for some light lunch, a shower and a change of clothes.
bnc needed a few hours to come up with the info, but with the info they had collected she was finally able to present a report on the assassin:

His street name was Woden, a mystic adept as far as people who had met him and survived could tell. He didn't seem to have a fixed MOA. Sniper rifles on drones, poison, explosives or a simple shot to the head from close distance where all on record.
He was suspected of no less than 56 deaths in the last ten years all over Europe and America. A few records showed that he had strong matrix support that erased his tracks pretty efficiently if not perfectly. In view of their own research, bnc favored the opinion that the female elf was most likely the one responsible.
The only thing everyone was sure about was that he was most frequently seen in the guise of a one eyed elf of about 1.80m size, beyond that details varied.
There was no direct connection to Thorin to be found, but that wasn't particularly surprising considering him being a professional killer. 
Most important, she had found the way people usually got in touch with Woden to hire him. It wasn't really feasible to get a lock on his commlink this way, since he used the services of a discreet rating 9 shadow security host to obscure his trail, but she now knew that most often his services were booked by industrials trying to take out the competition.

When bnc thinks that she's found out everything there is to be found online, she gathers the team in the living room and shares all information with the teammates.

"I'm quite positive that this is the man we are searching for. In Celtic mythology, Wotan, or Wodan, or Woden, is the equivalent to the Norse god Odin. The Hugin and Munin marks match his name. Also, the combination of one very serious rigger and a competent decker is strikingly suspicious, too.

There are two questions open now:
Firstly, why didn't he do the job himself, but sent the mercenaries instead. If he was half the drone rigger he is supposed to be, he could have snipered Wilcox without drawing any attention to him at al.
Secondly, what's the next step. We could, of course, try to get in touch with him, but I doubt that he will be as blue-eyes as his name suggests."

Slobbertooth gave attention to Li, as he tried to answer bnc's first question, "Probably because using a drone inherently ties it to a rigger as the assassin, but mercenaries tie it to anyone with a pocketbook. I doubt it was an accident that he also hired two guys who had history with the officer to make it look like petty revenge and not a hit job."

As for the next step: "Contacting him is certainly a possibility, but he probably already knows your icon, so I also doubt he'll pick up. We'll need to draw him out somehow. Does anyone have a family member dummy and an open field we could leave it in?"
