Looking for a drug (any edition) that would prevent a character from being affected by alcohol for a few hours. Does anyone knows of something like that?

Nothing comes to mind off the top of my head.

As I recall there was a piece of 'ware back in 3e that did so if that helps...

Alternatively if you have access to magic, while the Detox spell won't actually stop the 'damage' from alcohol, it will relieve the side effects (like stumbling, acting drunk, etc.. leaving you feeling a bit fresher if worn out.

I must say I'm actually surprised there's no such substance in Shadowrun. Comparing to some other stuff it's not really that crazy and it could be useful for black trenchcoat approach. Oh, well guess I'll have to make do. Thanks for input guys.

Nephritic Screen bioware should help you out. Also there is a drug in Chrome Flesh that suppresses the effects of any drug you have taken before, but doubles the negative effects once it stops working.

An alchemical Detox preparation would be your best bet to sober up quickly.

Since the KGB had a drug to counteract the effects of alcohol, certainly someone in 2075 could recreate  and improve upon it.
