Thorn didn't hesitate, despite still carrying the Tomahawk he instead charged the guy who might be the leader of the gang intending to ram him his fists into his his rotten teeth, followed by a quick roll over the shoulder and some zig-zagging to avoid any gun fire aimed at him.

By this time, Bent was no stranger to bullets. But he much preferred sending them away then taking them back, and right now it looked like he was on his least favorite end of the bullets. He ducked out of the way with impressive speed, but the fragger had burst fired and one round winged his shoulder, leaving a solid bruise. Bent was too irate to settle on just one curse word, so he drew his breath, focused, picked up the grenade, and tossed it down the hall. The grenade clattered to the ground perfectly in the midst of the group of attackers.

The rounds thwack into the ceramic plating in Cog's clothing, dissipating their energy and rattling him about as the plates held true and did their job.

Fox muttered

"Cheap drekheads" under his breath as the sub being in public grid force him to be on public grid and that was slow as drek. If they had nuyen to afford a sub they should have nuyen for a damn grid subscription.

(OOC: He uses his last IP (5) to do hack on the fly on the enemy sub.

Thats 9 dices + 3 for edge. And if it get any damage it gets +2DV for hammer)

@Tech Fetch / Border Defence
[Saturday December 14th, 2075; Hells Kitchen, Puyallup]

Thorn’s tomahawk lodges firmly above the breastbone of the rather surprised looking ganger wannabees while Al’s precision shot ends the hopes of one of the other rather ragged attackers.  On the walls of the Castle it is like the ant hill has been kicked and Torres witnesses this place on an alert footing as people scramble for weapons and gear.  Damn raiders have to be taught time and time again…this is not a place to be messed with!

The fire coming back towards Thorn is woefully inaccurate and you are able to avoid it with comparative ease...still it only takes one stray round to ruin your day!

The grenade blast back flows along the companionway with distressing speed but at least the gunfire has gone silent…

Round 2

Ini: Ini round 2: 12+2d6 20
Full defense Ini -10
Jiao Di Charge the next target with a gun (keep them tied up in melee so it's harder for them to shoot me)
Jiao Di Charge: 15d6t5 5 [15d6t5=5, 1, 5, 2, 2, 3, 4, 1, 5, 6, 3, 1, 1, 4, 5]

10 P + Successes
Thorn didn't wait for his target to fall to the ground. Instead he redirected his momentum to charge the next would be ganger with a jump, a roll and an upper cut that had all the strength of his legs behind it.
Despite the rain, the mud and the flying bullets he felt elated. This was where life showed itself - right on the edge.

Thorn was really mixing it up with these yahoos. There were quite a few of them, though. Least Al could do was help out.

They were half a klick out, and the visibility was not the best. His scope was a big help, as were his nifty eyes. But he soon found he was hardly really using either. The more he muttered his odes to the voodoo gods, the more his targets just seemed to line themselves up in his crosshairs as he pulled the trigger again and again.

@Tech Fetch / Border Defence
[Saturday December 14th, 2075; Outskirts of Orting, Puyallup]

Between Thorn and Al the carnage is bloody and vicious, precise and almost clinical...and then like a tide the ghouls are there, leaping and diving, their grey forms barely seen in either the visual or thermal spectrums...only the screams of the would be attackers really attests to their presence...attackers who had already begun to run away when the infected washed over them.  For a moment you get to see the true nature of these beasts that have been welcomed back in to the tribe...

[Saturday December 14th, 2075; Stillwater sub, The Sound, somewhere off the Seattle shoreline]

The white mist claws at your throats even though you are out of its direct spread, but it is being drawn away by the recirc system and you briefly hope that the scrubbers will do their work before it gets spat out in some other part of the sub.  The silence is eerie, no gunfire echoing in the confined space, even the groaning of the pirates is muted as they claw at their eyes and throats...looks like you are going to earn your pay tonight!

It had been only a short brawl, but Thorn was drenched with sweat all of a sudden. The cavalry had arrived and he was more than content to let them handle the rest.
With a lot more care than before, he descended to the small river and got back up to Al's position. After the adrenaline rush he felt the exhaustion coming. A slight tremor in his fingers made it hard to scramble up the last meters.
"Puh. That could've become nasty. Time to catch up with the others, before they flog the cell without us, eh?"

Al watched through his scope as Cam and his cadaverous cadre did their work and got paid at the same time. Watching that feller tear through the flesh of his fallen foes, he reflected on what a long way his descent had plunged him from the girly-man cigarette cop that had annoyed Al so much just a few months earlier.

A fall from humanity into something at once below an animal, and perhaps greater than human.

Just as this whole so-called Sixth World had clearly fallen from favor with God. Even when it needed HIm most.

It took Thorn a while to make his way up to where Al was, and he used the time to top up his magazine, smoke, and reflect on the undead. The way their thirst for human flesh drove most to feral savagery was, to him, testament to the supernal nobility of those with the strength to control those urges. A strength to which Thorn owed his life.

And then the tomahawk-wielding bordello guard was there, talking about catching up with the mule.

"Amen ta that, brother. Wouldn't want them two ta take all the credit. Much less beat us to the hot chow."

The drudge back had been just as miserable for Thorn as the way to the smuggler outpost and the last kilometer was no different. But being able to see the destination actually growing closer was great for his moral. If he could have, he'd have whistled. Instead he hummed content to himself. A hot meal and some sleep sounded quite delicious right now.
Once they had passed the fence and caught up with the other two and the fuel cell he asked: "You know, that whole business could have gone worse. Are you guys up for a beer after we deliver this piece? Nothing against your delicious brew Al, but I'd like to have it cold while I myself are warm inside a bar."

Bent swapped in some regular ammunition into his Guardian and put away his TMP. It took him longer than he would have liked, with his eyes itching and his glasses a bit fogged. He tossed some plastic restraints to Cog. "Tie them up. If they try anything, I'll shoot them."
Maybe it was just the time of year, but Bent was apparently feeling especially merciful. Normally someone started drek with him, he finished it with a hot lead "frag you". But these guys barely seemed committed. Still, Bent didn't like thinking he'd gone soft. He checked his spare magazines and mentally tallied ammunition count. "That's all it is. Conserving ammo." He concluded with a smile. He wasn't soft, just prudent.

Cog took a second to catch his breath and rammed a fresh clip of ammo home before grabbing the restraints that landed next to his ankle.
Alright, cover me
He advanced down the walkway slowly, weapon raised and trained on the supine and prone forms of his enemies, finger hovering itchily over the trigger

Castle Defense

The Kid watched as the people around him scrambled to defensive positions and the yells of raiders reached his ears. He scanned the terrain with his goggles, which started highlighting things for him. The two runners who had returned had dealt with the threat so quickly, aside from some help from a few of the tribal ghouls, that the fight was over before the troll could line up a single shot.

"Hot damn. Those guys are the real deal", the troll muttered under his breath.
Hoi chummer, what can I do for ya? Just remember, I don't work for free.
