hi all,
i'm looking to resurrect my long running london game and that means I need a character, maybe two at a stretch to complete my team.
I already have a combat adept and a TM so fighting and hacking roles are covered, so what I would like to see is a rigger/wheelman, ideally with some face skills.
A mage would also be welcome as a second slot once the wheelman side of things has been covered, again, social skills would be welcome.

House rules;
Game is set in London, UK. The UK is not and never has been a gun culture, so all firearms receive +4 avail and become forbidden. BF/FA weapons are +8 avail.
Sports shotguns (not FA/BF versions) and sports rifles can be licensed as they are used for clay/skeet/hunting so remain "R".
This does not apply to tasers, projectile weapons like bows and crossbows, and most exotic weapons (dart rifles/pistols etc are used for vetinary/pest control purposes and are "R") and all non-lethal weaponry is R at most.

As such, the police do not routinely carry firearms and corpsec + police operate under a  "subdue and arrest first" policy; utilising tasers, CS gas and other non-lethal weaponry as well as stun batons and such.
Firearm use in built up areas is reasonably rare outside of the slums in the east-end and will attract the firearms division of the metropolitan police's retribution. Likewise; offensive use of combat magic will attract retribution from the Lord Protectorate's Misuse of Magic division
Combat will tend to involve melee and short ranged non-lethal weaponry primarily so please remember to build to this.

In addition, London is a city on a massive river, if a rigger would like to include watercraft and diving skills, they will certainly add a lot of tactical flexibility to how you can approach your objectives. Trips to other cities and European countries can be expected so foreign language knowledge skills wouldn't be wasted points.

I use Shadows Over Europe (3rd ed) as an insipiration but with a much lower influence of the yak/triad groups. the east end is a slum and is divided between various local crime families. Maxwells and Clerkenwells are already represented in the game so feel free to build a story around either of those or make up your own,  or alternately be a free agent.

Currently working on the character sheet and background, just have a few questions

1. Are you okay with a Ghoul character?

2. Do we start at the same level as the current players, or just fresh no-karma?

3. Are you okay with Sum-to-ten?

Here's some background I wrote for the character so far. It's a WIP, will get updated as I expand it: Chey Fayden was your typical human girl living in London with her wage-slave parents until she got bit by a ghoul at the age of nineteen. After that her entire life turned around. While her parents were outright supporters of Humanis, and pretty much acted as if she had died, even going so far as to hold a mock funeral for her. Chey ended up finding support in a small community of HMMHV victims that were spread out over London. However finding any way to support herself was difficult, so she ended up going to the shadows to find work. While the prejudices in the shadows as they were in the normal world, at least people in the shadows could find use for a ghoul mage. She mostly works as a body disposal expert, as most shadowrunners will only take her help if there is no other mage around.

1.A ghoul would be ok in the next chapter but this one would see you killed or driven into hiding mate. The londoners aren't too keen on ghoulies!
2.you can have +10 karma to get you nearer to the players

I'll go ahead and make a Ghoul. By next chapter, do you mean the one that your recruting for right now, or the one after that? Either way, I'm aware and okay witht he amount of prejudice my character would get for being one of the infected. And thank you for the ten karma, that's two extra spells right there.

One of the few people willing to work with a ghoul, Jallard Krauss holds a unique sort of threat over Chey’s head. If she doesn’t do what he says for jobs, he simply stops finding her work, and that's that. She still could find work,but definitely not enough to support herself and be able to live with herself at the same time. Despite the truly huge Sword of Damocles he has over here, Jallard does at least recognize that she has limits to what she will do, and will maintain those limits so he doesn’t have to find someone to replace her.

One of the members of the Infected community of London, she and Chey have worked together on multiple jobs before, and have a casual friendship. Tyler is able to get slightly more work due to her not having to physically be with the people she’s working with for a good portion of her job.

I can work on a rigger, but it's going to be REALLY tricky for me to adapt to a face setting because I don't even know where to start for that backstory (my existing rigger that I had worked on wouldn't work because of your gun restrictions).  I'd almost be tempted to run him as a technomancer w/ an initial level of submersion for the MMRI echo (assuming of course the we accept the semi-community corrected version of 3*grade +10), but I could adapt w/o it (the rigger set hurts the Social limit because of the essence loss).  Give me a few hours and I'll have the numbers in place for both versions.

Couple questions for Saithor:  Any reason you're not using Mask or Physical Mask?  Being a ghoul is pretty obvious and if you want to avoid immediate "AHH ITS A GHOUL KILL IT WITH FIRE" it's either that, or invest in a Disguise Kit (You do already have Stealth Skill group at 4 after all).

Secondly: Goggles.  any reason you picked those up with Vision Magnification and Enhancement?  Part of the Ghoul package is Blindness and they make up for it by using their dual-natured astral sight.  This makes having imaging equipment as a ghoul kind of moot.

The next chapter will be perfect though so if you want to make a one shot character who we ditch in favour of your ghoul Mage after this chapter that's fine with me.

@eliwood: no problems mate. Drone with weapons are still feasible, a dart rifle loaded with narcojet or a shotgun would be more than ample. Just don't get caught with one without a damn good excuse and solid paperwork :-)
We already have a TM in the party and I ruled he could have a free submersion to help address player balance so I will extend the same offer to you.

@profgast: yeah she's doing grand mate, proper bundle of joy and sleeping really well too. I'd be well happy to have you aboard mate, wheelman/rigger is the most important for this next chapter and please feel free to take odd stuff like survival/tracking/plane/boats/diving etc because they will have the opportunity to be utilised here

Okay, I will get some work done on one. Can even give him that quality from Run Faster that means he will eventually die, would fit perfectly. Alternatively, if this is fine with you I was writing an RP sample for the character where she got a body to dispose of from her fixer, could have that as an introduction and that she has some food on her. Just a suggestion as a possibility, I will start drawing up a second character. Congratulations on your kid as well.

Looks good at first scan. You've got assensing but no ability to perceive astral though? Needs astral perception adept power or in a qi focus or maybe take oracle mentor spirit to get it free
