Bio-claws give +1 reach?

In Chrome Flesh, Bioware claws (if taken as a pair) give +1 Reach.
Does anyone think this is odd? Is this is a mistake?
Why would claws give +1 reach when a knife doesn't?
They can't be that big.

It's not an actual *reach* so much as the advantage gained from a "two-weapon style" without being called that. Essentially, you're a tad more dangerous with a second implant, so the other guy has to be a tad more wary and/or you can feint more easily, forcing them to block the other one while the one you intended to do damage gets through. Rather than invent a new mechanic, call it 'reach' and keep the rules simple.

Which is nice, except it would have been even nicer to have this particular rule in original core as bio-claws are basically just a biological version of Hand razors. :P

Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

I didn't do the SR5 cyber. *Lobbied* for it, but didn't get it.

I would be comfortable house-ruling the +1 reach for a pair of cyberweapons, personally. I dunno if they'd go there for the official rules, but at my table, it'd be no problem.

Just wish there was more consistency through the products, each add on just seems to go it's own route without necessarily referencing with each other and the question arises which applies, as well as do they stack?

For example Run & Gun has Offensive two weapon style has it that when attacking, use the lesser Reach of the two weapons, but add 1 to the Accuracy and Damage Value of the longer weapon.

Now this is a martial arts technique, so not everyone will have it and while I am certainly comfortable of allowing the +1 reach to be applied for claws/razors for use with this technique, I hope you can see why this may seem confusing to a newer player/GM?

Edit: I have often thought there needs to be an extra body on staff whose sole job is cross-referencing items/rules so that the fluff & crunch writers can be alerted of possible streams crossings during development.
A Canon Companion if you will. ;)

but than this paired Weapons Bonus should be RAW for each and every paired Weapon !
You can't give one peired Weapon that +1" Reach" Bonus but not the others....
