As far as I'm concerned it does make a difference when you try to repair the thing, meaning unlike with real P damage the drone can actually be repaired

It's been 5 months and I still can't find an image for my custom Full Body Armor that I really like. It's always either too military, too obviously a robot, wielding a sword, too obviously Snake Eyes, obviously a human, or an outfit with breast pockets and an open zipper.

I'm not sure so I guess I have to ask: What purpose would dataspike have served? The thing was full with Physical damage, but had no Matrix damage at all. Am I wrong or would I just have filled the second monitor without any real effect?

Pretty much, yes. But who knows, a 10 DV matrix spike is always possible with a little edge.

Okay, boys, I'm losing track. Let's recollect everything we know.
This is my post from August, then some more recent notes:

• We don't know anything about SS's background story. His body indicates he had a rough life, but nobody really knows where he came from. He had some cyberware inside him, but nothing that indicated that he was a really professional shadowrunner. Probably a minor runner or something like that. Right?
• Someone which might and influence, however, invested money in him. Expensive bio-treatment to make him stronger and, of course, to wipe out his old identity: new face, new fingerprints, an expensive SIN. Did I miss something?
• SS and Sunkid wanted to meet the very day SS died. Sunkid has no memory of the morning.
• SS had his "headquarters" in the brothel. There were boxes of a drug which wipes out memories.
• Somebody has drunk from a cup of coffee containing this laes derivative, but it was not SS.
• SS was killed shortly after this incident in a very professional manner.
• Someone placed a trap for SS in his HQs.
• We have a book full of commcodes. The only remarkable entry is Lung Feng, a restaurant owner.
• SS and Sunkid had some very valueable stuff hidden somewhere.

We found the real SS but we still don't know who the geeked one was and why he was geeked, right?
Somebody (the same somebody) gave SS laes to drink.
SS (or his impersonator) drank coffee with laes right before the false SS died.
SS contacted Tanja to hide the stuff before he got captured. He usually would leave some trace behind to pick it up later on.

Any more ideas, memories or so?

No, not exactly. You are thinking to complex:

You already have the following info:

Scary was asking around where to hide his stash
He doesn't trust his contacts due to the value of the gear
He organizes some Laes that won't knock you unconscious but erases short term memory
He asks Lung Feng but doesn't come to an agreement - subsequently he marks him as unreliably in his book
Lung Feng wants to know where the stash is and wants to capture SS, but knows that he will be missed by his partner
Lung Feng organizes a double, has him surgically altered to look like SS and magically healed to hide the traces.
Lung Feng gets ready to kidnap SS in front of the Stuffer Shack (You don't know how he found him - but spirits is the most likely)
SS realizes what's about to happen and that he hasn't got his weapon on him. Instead he takes a laes pill in his mouth and dissolves it with a gulp of coffee.
SS is gunned down with gel and the impostor takes his place.
For some reason Feng or one of his people shoots the impostor (That's one thing you haven't found out yet)

During the lost time SS has visited Tanja, convinced her to hide his container personally and take a pill to forget about it.

SS mentioned that he wouldn't have taken the pill if he hadn't left himself a clue somewhere - probably with one of the street people at the stuffer shack or on the toilet.

Nope, you did - or rather you only interrogated them about what happened during the shootout.
You haven't gone back to ask them about any clues SS might have handed out.

By the way: It is quite possible to get into the traffic-control host. You just need a direct connection to a traffic light.
Looking for the right file might get a bit dicey. On the plus side, the host is so busy that patrols aren't likely to come around every round.
