IF rigger cocoon had said it reduces the passenger space by 1, I would have said you can only put it in vehicles that can hold people normally. However, it doesn't, so I would not have a problem with it at my table.

Besides, how else are they slowly going to introduce Mech's before revealing that the BattleTech universe is actually the 7th World?

Great I can see it now, Troll elementals, Ork infantry, elven mechwarriors and aerojocks, dwarven techs (some things never change). Although the mech on dragon fight would be brutal....and then the weapons, a mana-based PPC??? eek.

But seriously, a rigger cocoon on a drone? Reminds me of a Tachikoma from Ghost in the Shell: SAC...not that it's a bad thing.

Note that in some cases it's going to look more like a rigger cocoon with a drone attached rather than the other way round.

I hate to help someone make an end-run around his GM but I'm going to. Why not buy a vehicle like the Horseman and kit it out to be just as bad as the Lynx? See various power amror discussions elsewhere on the forum. Large Drone with a cocoon makes sense to me. If a Medium can carry a jarhead, a large should be able to carry a full person. . . but the moment I see Harlequin in a Locust we're not friends anymore.

Yeah I was eyeing up the horseman, good idea. In my GMs last game of SR4 he plaed he was a rigger and built a tachikoma, its why im sad i cant cocoon a lynx.

Well, as a mage you probably want something with real windows anyway. Can't cast out of a Lynx while you're in a cocoon.

Install a Mage Sight system. :)

Granted, it imposes a dice pool penalty.

I wonder if I can bolt a rigger cocoon to a Dodge Scoot.....  I'm gonna' have to try that.

SR4A, page 244,

"Drones (and only drones) are incapable of carrying passengers..."

I haven't found anything to contradict/supplement that, so I'd say it's not permissible by RAW.  (Edit to correct page number)

Yes there is, it's called gravity.  ;D

Seriously, from what little I know of current UAV technology, there are all kinds of reasons why drones are not build to accomodate people.  It messes with performance of the drone's primary task, whatever that may be.

A pretty severe one in all likelihood.  It would most probably be useless for anything other than screwing around or a proof of concept type thing.
