Nobodies ever happy with the nuyen amounts we offer in official products anyway, so maybe this was more of a "GM's can set an amount appropriate to the game they're running", which is what I do with my home games anyway.

That and sometimes, things get so fragged that getting out with your skin intact is payment enough.  ;)

Your payment will be escaping this deathtrap with your life!

But yeah, payment levels seems to be the most protean part of Shadowrun.  Missions, which very specifically has set out to have a certain power level, bases its payment scheme on what's appropriate for its goals.  Different tables will have, I'm sure, different goals.

I had a game recently where my players were to recover some Black Ivory Coffee - this is, to some degree or another, the most expensive coffee in the world,  They were to recover 4 kilos of the coffee, which I put a value of 100,000 nuyen on.  There were two opportunities to grab the coffee they needed, but the shipments were very close to each other.  I figured this meant they wouldn't try to do both, but lo and behold of course they tried.  So on top of their normal payday, they got a lot more than I intended for them to get.  Yet another example of players taking everything that isn't nailed down.  :P

To go back on topic - other than the before mentioned issues I have with the book I was pretty satisfied and surprised by the book. It is a very open compilation in the sense that it does very little railroading but then requires a lot more preparation for the GM. The storyline is good. So all in all a 4 out of 5 from me ^^

If Tom Brady’s a Spike Baby, what does that make Brees and Rodgers?

Thanks! I'm just glad to see it finally published.

Case in point!  Yesterday my players found a Valkyrie Module that was attached to a shipping container.  They asked if they could just kind of "throw it in the trunk" of their Ford Americar.  And when they went against vampires, they pulled all the fangs out of the dead vamps, and decided to "harvest" them for any potentially valuable talismonger components.  >.<

If they still got the hearts from the vamps, I may know a guy who might be interested in taking them off their hands. ;)
Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

Only one heart remained intact.  One of the vamps got a shotgun round to the face, and a few to the chest (that were regenerated), but the other vamp got done in with a rather well-coordinated attack from three players, including an acid stream to the chest.  So one set of fangs, one heart, and one "gallbladder."  I put that in quotation marks because honestly, he's not sure what he pulled out of there.
