IT quickly regains control over her feelings. She continue sending messages directly from her rig.
Oh... I had no idea I still feel so strongly about it. Deja voo that's all... it seems like it happened in a different life, to a different person. I liked jogging back then... can't even picture myself doing it now.

Anyhow, we conned the Yakuza out of  some really volatile stuff and it literally blew up in our faces. Instantly killing everyone. For some odd twist of fate I am still alive, and became magically active.  Now I really have to get my thoughts straight because I want to bring us safely to our destination - not a good time for getting sentimental.

Where are we heading guys? we drove away from the customs but where to?

Flea scanned it for wireless signals with her Deck, checking her AR overlay for inbound results. It was likely to have some kind of tracker tag built in and she readied her bug zapper as the van pulled away.

As you speed away from the facility, IT's commlink buzzes with a message from the shipping facility.

>> We apologize, it seems there was a small error regarding your paperwork.  We request you please return so we can quickly iron this out and get you back on your way.  Thank you.

The man's eyebrows perk up.

>>"Who I'm working for?  I'd have thought that should be obvious.  The Sisters.  As for what they pay me, it isn't as cut and dry as that.  There is a nominal amount of nuyen, of course, "services rendered" and all that cover jazz, but holding a group like that in even a minor debt is a good position to be in.  I deal in contacts and information.  For someone like me, an influential religious group owing you a favor can be a very significant payout, provided one is patient.

"That is unfortunate," Inanna says, pocketing her commlink.  "I thought you may be higher up the food chain than all that.  It doesn't look as though we'll be able to help one another out, after all.  You do know the sisters are on the wrong side of history, and in the wrong country for the game they're playing.  I'd say that I wish you all the best, sir, but grunts die grunt deaths, and you are a grunt.  Maybe if you had been brought on by the mega backing the sisters, things would go a little differently between us, but as it stands, my nuyen will ride on the winning horse."

Inanna gives him one last chance to speak before leaving the room.  She asks one of the guards standing outside the room to take her to the head of security, and once there says, "You should expect an extraction attempt.  He's seen my face, so the chance of his escape would greatly hinder the chance of our success.  I'll leave the decision to you."

Yako gulps and sends a message, those using a DNI will pick up on her nerves.

It looks like another one of those statue things... I can't tell exactly what it is, but it's some kind of alchemical preparation for a Force 8 Manipulation spell. Whatever this thing is it's powerful.

<< So... we're driving around with a high force alchemist preparation -the kind made but very powerful mages.
The status contain spirits - don't know how. I am not skilled in alchemy level 6 spirits actually I'd seen if they where alchemy preparations when scouting the Cathedral.

I think it contains a control spell - mind control is manipulation - just guessing but I think with so many missing priests the sisters are planning something nasty tomorrow - maybe some powerful ritual performed under mind control spell - can you do such things? I am new to this magic stuff -  I really don't want to be around it when it goes off.
 >>

She forward the customs message to the team.

<< we got another concern - I am an armature with forgery... It may just be a little thing with the paperwork.  At any case if we do not reply they'll be more suspicious and dig deeper and the more they dig the more we're at risk - so I'd send a mundane replay something like - "Okay - we are on the way back."  >>

Yako's reply is showing more of her nerves to anyone communicating via DNI.

I think it more likely that the gig's up... besides Flea's already been messing with the container. I think some fast talking and stalling while we legit for the cathedral is about our only real play here. If we find out the statue is bad juju we can put some armor piercing rounds into it or something to mess it up. If we go back I think about the only 'checking' they'll be doing will be involving lots of guns pointed at us. And I really don't want to go through that again. The last bit slips through via her DNI.

We can also bargain for it - package for emissary not sure if our leverage is strong enough tough.

I am not sure the temple will want this in their backyard -  it is like bringing them a bomb - we should ask them about it before showing up this hot - it is not polite to bring a bomb to your employer's place. Some of the people in the temple can be trusted I think.  I am just saying.  If you showed down my place with such strong unknown magic - I won't invite you afterwards.

She then sends a private message to Yako.

<<@Yako[IT] - don't worry dear we're all stressed. >>

And then a message to the customs.
<< Damn... so annoying I have to be near this packet for any longer... we are coming back hold on. Be patient we are going extra slow for safety.>>

For all we know it's useable on command, I don't want to risk it being weaponised and I'm sure mages can track this stuff in the astral if they can find it. We need to put distance between us and the depot and find a way to blow this thing or keep it off the radar. My preference is for the former.

Are initial plans is to use this packet as a legit excuse to visit the cathedral - they are expecting it delivered... and they are expecting it now. The real workers of no idle hand may be on their way to the customs as we speak we do not have time. If we want the original plan we should rush to the cathedral.

Godless will help us with a sin test there as well.

That said I totally understand how dangerous this stuff is - and I understand Flea - but I am not sure we'll get a legit reason to be in the cathedral and their astral and physical security seems solid. I counted 6 spirits and some awakened beasts patrolling - they are out of our league for brute force.  They also have more mages in there, and god knows whats inside.

We're only going to get the emissary out with a ruse, and I don't know how many more tricks we'll have before our deadline. I say we go for it. I'll come with you jumped in a security drone they are standard and are expected to secure the package.

Do it then.Ask them.Similar items are already inside the Cathedral we are about to infiltrate.Ignorance on the matter is even more dangerous.

Okay okay - guys lets leave it for now.
I am contacting the temple and ask them if they care to have a look.
We are in danger right now with a delicate preparation, and some angry guys at the customs that may send someone after us. My first suggestion is to make the van invisible, it will give us some disguise from mundane security. But once I do it, there is no way I can jump out - as the autopilot software cannot be trusted driving an invisible car.

We can figure out our exact plan soon enough but everyone has to agree - if we chose to do stuff we are 100% committed to it. We should work together at least until we get paid.  I am putting us on route to some desolate place, I'd turn all devices offline as Flea suggested. It is bad enough we can be tracked in the astral lets not give our enemies options. I can speak to you while driving from the stereo system - no need to send matrix messages.
Lets keep just one com link online for communication - or a deck running silent. I suggest Flea as I'll be a bit busy driving. But any top notch comlink should be safe enough.

she then contacts the temple security, forwarding the message to the team.

@Temple[IT] *Urgent* - we picked up some magical preparation from the customs.
do you have an elder mage that can have an astral look?
We'd carry it to you but it may be dangerous so we want someone experienced to have a look prior.
Preferably someone knowledgeable in alchemy.
