Yes.. Sorry. Should a person go over 500Bp? Or should it remain as is?

Over 500 BP why? I mean, if you want to have a Prime Runner campaign, then why not. But other than that? I don't see why they should. Yes, there is never enough BP's to spend, but that's what makes the character creation and development processes so appealing. You get to create a runner an play him through from the very beginning, watching his skills/attributes/other stuff go up as he gets better and better... And you get to decide how that happens. So as for me, nope, no BP 500+ characters beyond Prime Runner npc's. That spoils a lot of fun.

That is very true. I was just wondering how far the numbers went. (: Thanks for the input.

Technically, you can give them as many BP as you want during character creation. However, if I start characters off with 1000+ BP, they will run into Lofwyr in their dealings.

I want to see the 100 BP game... Talk about street level, you're probably playing middle-school kids.

Just getting all attributes (besides Edge, for a Human character) costs 80 points. So, a 100 BP character would be elementary school, or kindergarten age kid. :P

Huh?  What do you mean?  The first point of an attribute is always free.  If they have a racial bonus (human Edge, elf Agility + Charisma, et.) then that gets figured in, as well.  But baseline stats are always free.
There is no overkill.

Only "Open fire" and "I need to reload."

Also, if you build a 100 BP character, the most you could spend on attributes is 50.

I think he means buying all attributes up one point above baseline.

I left out "to two points". Sorry, got distracted a bit. Seems like one of my players is still interested in the SR campaign. One...

I wouldn't bother with anything over 500 BP. At that point, the the power curve difference between BP and Karma is so huge that you're much better off using Karmagen.

Build points are more scalable at the lower end than karmagen, but at the higher end, you need to start adding additional things to it - such as higher Availability, more that can be spent on gear, and so on.  Otherwise, you will have a disproportionate number of awakened characters.  They will get everything they want and have points left over, so they will go "Hey, I'll make this guy an adept."

Most high-level games with prime runners  use 400-500 build points, then add some karma on top of that.  This lets the players do things like initiations, raising additional skills to 5 or 6, and so on.  Because going over 500 points, you are typically creating upper echelon runners.

@Glyph: Yeah, my group does that. We keep a running total of karma and cash earned, so that players can build new PCs roughly equivalent to the current ones. It also helps me double-check that the karma and cash roughly follow the karmagen formula, so that karma-heavy and cash-heavy builds keep pace with each other.
